Kingsport, TN at the Civic Auditorium
– Alyx Winters won a 2 Ring Battle Royal for the next shot at the NWA Smoky Mountain Title.
– Josh Cody & Alex Pain defeated O-Dog & Michael Starr
– NWA Mountain State Champion, Lance Erikson defeated Ricky Morton via a roll up with a handful tights
— After the match, Morton’s Protégé, Chase Owens and several other wrestlers came to the ring and surprised Ricky with a plaque thanking him for the help he has given the NWA Smoky Mountain locker room over the years.
– NWA Smoky Mountain Champion, Jason Kincaid and Menace fought to a draw in a 2 out of 3 falls match… The men split the first 2 falls of the match, but the third and deciding fall ending with a double pin when the referee counted both men’s shoulders down.
– Chase Owens defeated Skylar Kruze; NWA Rampage Champion, Kyle Matthews and NWA Mountain Empire Champion, Sigmon in a 4 Corners Match
— No titles were on the line in this match… Due to this victory, Chase Owens retained his status at the #1 Contender for the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title.
– Josh Crawford, Johnny Knieval, Jeff Connelly, Keith Knox and Travis Dykes defeated Robbie Cassidy, Chris Richards, Tony Givens, Derik Billings and Bryan Kyle in a 2 Ring Cage of Death Match when Connelly made Givens surrender.
NWA Smoky Mountain’s next event is on Saturday, August 4 at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium… In the Main Event that night, Chase Owens will challenge “The Modern Day Hero” Kevin Douglas for the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title.
