Hello everyone and welcome to this look at Smart Mark Video’s 1st of 2 “test runs” at the Internet PPV format. Tonight, they showed footage from 3 CHIKARA matches that took place at the “Road 2 Ruin Fest” Festival from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from back in April. They will be doing another “test run” tomorrow with the live Wrestling is Fun! event in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Wrestling is Fun, for those who don’t know, is kinda like the sister promotion of CHIKARA.

So, with that out of the way, let’s get to the Free-Per-View, shall we?

“Mr. Touchdown” Mark Angelosetti vs. Dragonfly

Touchdown talks trash, then they exchange slaps until Touchdown drives Dragonfly into the corner, hits a series of shoulders, followed by a snapmare for a nearfall. Touchdown with a series of right hands, then taunts the crowd. Touchdown stomps away at Dragonfly, then chokes him. Touchdown with a slam, followed by a knee drop. Touchdown with a cocky cover for another nearfall. Touchdown with a back suplex for another nearfall. Crowd wills on Dragonfly as Touchdown locks him in a chinlock. Dragonfly then breaks free with a jawbreaker, but Touchdown catches him with a dropkick for another nearfall. Touchdown gets another pair of nearfalls, then has words with the referee. Touchdown with a pair of chops, but Dragonfly fights back. Dragonfly heads up top and hits a missile dropkick for a close nearfall.

Dragonfly fires up, then charges, but Touchdown catches him and connects with the Extra Point (One-Armed Spinebuster) for the victory.

“The Kentucky Gentleman” Chuck Taylor vs. “The Inter-Galactic Luchadora” Saturyne

Taylor trash talks Saturyne as the bell sounds, but then Saturyne goes to work on Taylor’s arm. Taylor pulls at Saturyne’s hair, then says “That’s how we treat women”. Taylor easily takes Saturyne down, then goes to work on her arm with a hammerlock, saying he will rip her arm off and beat her with it. Saturyne with a snapmare to break free, then hits a dropkick, a spin kick and finally a spinning headscissors. Saturyne with another spin kick for a nearfall. Taylor with a club and begins to stomp away at Saturyne. Taylor with a slam, saying “Holy cow, I’m strong!”, then makes a cocky cover for a 1 count. Saturyne fights back, then slips out of a suplex and rolls up Taylor for a nearfall. Taylor comes back with a boot to the face, followed by a double sledge to the back. Taylor goes for a suplex, but Saturyne counters with an inside cradle for a nearfall. Taylor with another boot, followed by a snapmare into a chinlock as the crowd wills on Saturyne. Saturyne breaks free, ducks under a clothesline, then hits a wheelbarrow into a bulldog.

Saturyne with a series of kicks to the chest, followed by a dropkick. Saturyne with a springboard crossbody for a nearfall. Taylor then catches Saturyne off a spin kick attempt in the corner, hitting a backbreaker for a nearfall. Taylor has words with the fans, then hits a Falcon Arrow for another nearfall. Taylor with a stomp, then goes up top for a moonsault, but Saturyne moves out of the way. Taylor screams in pain as Saturyne with a dropkick, but Taylor with a stomp. Taylor with a corner whip, but Saturyne with a springboard turnaround crossbody for another nearfall.

Taylor rakes the eyes, then hits the Awful Waffle for the victory.

6 Man Tag: Los Ice Creams (El Hijo Del Ice Cream & Ice Cream Junior) & “The Serpent Spirit” Ophidian vs. The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant & Green Ant)

Green Ant comes to the ring on a skateboard, ala Big Johnny. Ophidian has someone’s shirt from the festival, then one of the Ice Creams wipes himself with it. Ophidian & one of the Ice Creams then take turns giving the shirt elbow drops.

El Hijo & Soldier will start things off. Soldier goes for the arm, but El Hijo grabs at his mask. El Hijo then smacks Soldier on the keister. They trade kicks, then they both give each other salutes. Soldier with a side headlock, catches a kick, they go round and round into stereo salutes again. El Hijo with a leapfrog, but Soldier with an armdrag. El Hijo sends Soldier to the outside, then takes down Green. Both Ice Creams now in and they have Green in a double leg lock. The entire Colony now in and everyone gets involved in the leg lock. Ophidian & Green now in as Ophidian with a pair of chops. Green comes back with some chops of his own, but Ophidian with a shot to the throat. Green goes to a cravate, followed by a slam and a leaping splash for a nearfall. Ophidian goes to the outside as Green goes to charge, but is stopped by Junior. Green & Fire hit double boots, followed by double back sentons. Fire with a headscissors on Junior, followed by a monkey flip. Fire takes down both Ice Creams, then Soldier with a headscissors on El Hijo. Colony go for the Antpault, but its prevented by Ophidian.

Ice Creams send Soldier into the apron, then they triple team Green with a series of moves. Ice Creams taunt the crowd as Ophidian snapmares Green and stomps away at him. Ophidian with a double springboard moonsault for a nearfall. Tag to Junior as Green tries to fight back, but Junior unloads with clubs to the back before gaining a nearfall. Tag to El Hijo as the Ice Creams double team Green before gaining another nearfall. Tag to Junior as they double whip Green, but Green moves out of the way. The Ice Creams run into one another and Green clotheslines Ophidian.

Tag to Fire, who hits Ophidian with a pair of head kicks. Fire then with a springboard into a rana, followed by a Tornado DDT. Soldier with a top rope saluting headbutt, then Green with a top rope splash on both Ice Creams, who tried to come in, for a nearfall. The Colony hit the 6 Feet of Fury on Junior, then hit a series of kicks on El Hijo. Soldier hits You’re Dismissed on Junior, then Green & Fire with double baseball slides to both Ice Creams. All 6 brawl on the outside before the Colony do the Antpault from the top of one of the concert stages onto Ophidian & the Ice Creams. Back in the ring, Green & Soldier work over Ophidian, but Ophidian fights back. Ophidian nails Soldier off the top, then locks in the Death Clutch on Green, but then Soldier breaks it up with a roaring forearm.

The Colony then hit the Ant Hill on Ophidian for the victory.

    So, there you have the 1st of 2 “test-runs” by Smart Mark Video with their foray into the Internet PPV format. While the show was very choppy in the 720p format, once it was brought down into a lower quality, the stream was perfect and never buffered. While there are some kinks needed to be worked out, this is a definite good 1st step for them and I look forward to the Wrestling is Fun! show tomorrow night.
