AWF YEAR END EXTRAVAGANZA 2012

Australasian Wrestling Federation rounds out its 2012 wrestling season on Sat 8 December at Blacktown RSL with a massive show aptly entitled “Year End Extravaganza”
The show will feature over 2 hours of live pro-wrestling action suitable for all ages, featuring the top AWF Wrestlers of 2012.
The main event of the evening will see international talent “Irish” Andy Pheonix challenge for the Australasian Championship, against fan favourite champion “Iron” Ben Coles.
This bout promises to be a fantastic contest pitting two world class pro-wrestlers battling for the most prestigious prize in all of Australasian wrestling.
The AWF Tag Team Titles will also be on the line, as Dean Draven & Gladiator Apollo, collectively known as “The Bests of The Colosseum” defend their championships against Traffic & Massive Q of “Mass Transit”. This title match will see over 500 kgs of destruction colliding, with the winner walking away as best tag team in the AWF.
In another international bout, Tama Williams of New Zealand will take on Australia’s heavyweight sensation and new Commonwealth Champion Blakestone. This first time battle between the new and a former Commonwealth Champion, will see two in form competitors testing themselves to the limits, and victory here will no doubt set the pace for a good start for 2013.
A huge undercard is also planned for this special night and will feature Young Lion’s Champion Magnum Holmes, Factions Tag Team action, and a Women’s bout, plus a special Christmas intermission show by the Jingle Bellies dancing Santa’s.
In addition, on the night AWF will give out some Year Awards to Wrestlers who have achieved greatness in 2012 and helped the Australian wrestling product in 2012.
So for a great night of sports and entertainment book early and go out of your way to attend AWF Year End Extravaganza, as this will be a fantastic event and a great finale to the AWF Wrestling season!

Troy “The Boy” Buchannan vs “Go Time” Chris LaPlante
This was a solid back and forth match to kick off the evening’s events.
Chris LaPlante was looking to keep his momentum going whereas Troy
Buchannan was looking for his first win inside a Crossfire Wrestling ring.
In the end though, a spear and a subsequent sharpshooter had Troy tapping
out to give the win to LaPlante.
WINNER: “Go Time” Chris LaPlante (submission)
Silvie Silver and “Anti-Diva” Kaitlyn Diemond (w/”Infamous” Jay Moore) vs
Holly Hatchet and Jewells Malone
A good ladies tag team match to keep the action going. Jewells and Holly
had an impressive showing in their Crossfire Wrestling debut, but in the
end, a Jay Moore interference and a double team by Silver and Diemond
results in a win for Moore’s team.
WINNERS: Silvie Silver and “Anti-Diva” Kaitlyn Diemond
After the match, Moore aired his dirty laundry with the Crossfire Wrestling
crowd, saying that he was too good to show up at parades, bowling lanes and
the like. During his rant out comes Sik Rik Matrix! Matrix sat in a chair
in the middle of the ring and read out a message from Marc Krieger’s
Facebook page and then went on to say that he will be the Crossfire
Wrestling Heavyweight Champion come the end of the night. After Matrix was
done his rant, out comes Marc Krieger! Krieger delivered a powerful speech,
saying that Matrix was a disgrace to pro wrestling and that he should do
all of the young guys a favour and retire. A brawl soon breaks out which
led to the rest of the Infamous Five engage in a huge assault on Matrix,
largely concentrated on his right arm. Eventually Eddie Osborne pulled
Krieger off of Matrix, saying that he didn’t need to do any more.
After this, the Special Guest Commissioner was named, Chuck “The Butcher”
Simpson! He announced that if any of the Infamous Five get in the way of
the main event, they would be permanently banished from Crossfire Wrestling!
Luis Aveiro vs The Sexy Monkey
Luis was making his Crossfire debut, and made a very impressive showing
against fan favourite Sexy Monkey. Relatively new to pro wrestling, Luis
broke out a series of moves that people with five times his experience
couldn’t even imagine, going even as far to attempt the ever dangerous
Shooting Star Press, which Monkey managed to roll out of the way of at the
last possible second. In the end though, it was The Sexy Monkey’s
experience that proved to be the difference maker in this one, catching
newcomer Aveiro with a small package to win the match.
WINNER: The Sexy Monkey
“Impact” Eddie Osborne vs “Highlander” Robbie MacAllister
Make no mistake about it, this one was physical from the bell. These two
men threw out all of their best moves and then some. When the smoke
cleared, however, this contest ended with MacAllister’s arm raised in the
air after a DDT.
WINNER: “Highlander” Robbie MacAllister
Marcus Marquez vs “High Risk Hero” Rip Impact
The final match in a three match series, this was a match truly worthy of
“Match of the Night” honours. Each man was throwing their best moves at
each other, but when this one was over, it was Rip hitting his signature
Ripcord and Sliced Bread maneuvers to pick up the win. After the match, Rip
offered a handshake to Marquez, however, after the handshake was accepted,
Marquez tried to jump Rip, which he saw coming.
WINNER: “High Risk Hero” Rip Impact
CROSSFIRE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Sik Rik Matrix (w/”Go Time Chris LaPlante) vs “Every Ladies Dream” Marc
Krieger (c) (w/”Infamous” Jay Moore and Silvie Silver)
Needless to say, after the attack by Krieger and the rest of The Infamous
Five, this match was about more than the title for Sik Rik Matrix. This was
a match that took place all throughout the Merritton Community Centre, with
LaPlante in close range so as to cut off any attempts from Moore or Silver
to get involved. Out comes Eddie Osborne, and he fights with LaPlante to
the back. As referee Mike O’Shea tries to deal with Moore, Silver puts
brass knuckles on Krieger. One punch later and Krieger gets the win.
WINNER: “Every Ladies Dream” Marc Krieger (Still Champion)
After the match, all of the wrestlers rush out for a mini brawl, and Chuck
Simpson announces that he has stripped Krieger of the Championship (that
decision has since been reversed by Crossfire Wrestling officials). He has
also announced that since everyone wants to get involved, on March 9,
that’s exactly what’s going to happen, as it will be Krieger vs Rik for the
Crossfire Wrestling Championship in a Texas Lumberjack match!

The next SHIMMER live event will take place the day before WrestleMania, on Saturday afternoon, April 6, 2013. It will be held at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ, just two miles from the stadium for WrestleMania.
This is a rare opportunity for our fans in the Northeast (and those heading into town that weekend for Mania) to see SHIMMER live without needing to head to Chicago to do it. If you’re in the area that weekend, this is your chance!!
The event will be SHIMMER 53, as part of that weekend’s WrestleCon festivities at the Expo Center. Also holding live wrestling events as part of WrestleCon that weekend are Dragon Gate USA, CHIKARA, Combat Zone Wrestling, Kaiju Big Battel, and EVOLVE.
Front row for SHIMMER 53 is already sold out, and second row seating is almost gone as well. Second and third row tickets are currently available at http://www.wrestlecon.com/ at a cost of $40. General admission seating is also available at a cost of $25. Tickets for SHIMMER 53 are only available from the WrestleCon web site, not from SHIMMER directly.
Fans in the Chicago area, take note that our return dates at the Berwyn Eagles Club are the week after SHIMMER 53. We will tape SHIMMER 54-57 on Saturday & Sunday, April 13th & 14th in Berwyn. Tickets for those events will go on sale via http://www.shimmerwrestling.com/ during the month of January.

SHIMMER 50 features a double main event! Main Event #1 highlights the international flavor which SHIMMER has come to be known for, pitting Ayako Hamada vs. Kana in a blockbuster singles battle between two of Japan’s finest. Main Event #2 is a five-on-five elimination tag team match featuring all of the SHIMMER originals still on the roster, plus all of the current title holders, and a few more to round out the teams.
Look for SHIMMER 49 & 50 to be released during the month of January, and 51 & 52 to follow shortly thereafter.
