Indy News #2: August 16 (UPWA)

Donald Brower sent this in:

The fastest growing wrestling promotion in the southeast returned to the National Guard Armory in Shallotte, NC with an action packed show when UPWA rolled into town on August 15th with August Assault 2009.

It was near standing room only as the town turned out to support the UPWA in Shallotte.

In the Main Event of the show, UPWA Carolinas Champion Beast and Djinn battled to a double disqualification. Both men fought tooth and nail hitting each other with bone crunching move after bone crunching move. After 20 minutes of mat action, frustration set in and both men brawled with each other. The referee tried to regain order but was shoved to the ground by both men and had no choice but to end the match.

In other action, B.D. Productions defeated The Sharp Dressed Men to become No. 1 Contenders for the UPWA Tag Team Titles.
LA Tank defeated Eric Evans in a back and forth match.

Christopher Shane defeated Minion in a potential Match of the Year candidate. Both men gave it their all but Shane capitalized on a rare Minion mistake to hit a reverse Death Valley Driver to pick up the win.

Tiger Blue defeated Mini Marvelous Mike via pinfall.

In the opening contest, The debuting Tavarse Hill defeated Justin Kaos in an exciting battle of UPWA newcomers.

UPWA heads to the Wilmington Armory on August 29th with an action packed card headlined by The Nigerian Nightmares defending the Tag Team Titles and the quarterfinals of the UPWA Heavyweight Title Tournament. For more information visit www.theupwa.com
