Wrestleview.com’s Mike Tedesco spoke with former WWE star and “Total Divas” cast member Rosa Mendes live at Starrcast in Chicago during ALL IN weekend recently.
Here are a few highlights from the interview.
On postponing surgery to be part of Starrcast:
“I was supposed to get surgery last week and I postponed my surgery to come to Starrcast. That’s how historical it is. ALL IN and Starrcast, people are here from all over the world. I had to be here.”
What type of surgery she was scheduled to have:
“I tore my ACL, meniscus in the ring. So I won’t be wrestling for 8 months. I was really sad about it and I was just getting back into the game. I was working so hard and I guess I overworked.”
On her run with WWE and time in developmental:
“There wasn’t a lot of opportunity for me (at that time) and I found an opportunity valet. I have a passion for this business so much. A lot of people think that because I was a valet that I don’t have passion for wrestling. I trained like everyone else in developmental. I trained for 3 and a half years. I busted my butt. I traveled with everyone else. But that was the role for me. The goal is to be an in-ring competitor and be the best I can be.”
