Jon Moxley appears at NJPW Strong and attacks KENTA

Former AEW Champion Jon Moxley made a surprise appearance at the end of last night’s NJPW Strong event attacking KENTA.

Moxley then took to the mic and said that he doesn’t play political games, and that KENTA’s dream of becoming the United States Champion just become a nightmare. He then went on to say into the camera that he would face KENTA in Tokyo “one of these days”.

Moxley has held the IWGP United States Championship for over a year.  He defeated Lance Archer at Wrestle Kingdom 14 back on January 4, 2020. He had not been able to travel to Japan to defend the title due to COVID-19 restrictions.

KENTA defeated David Finlay in a New Japan Cup USA Tournament Final Match this past August to win a briefcase with a IWGP United States Title Match Contract. He successfully defended the briefcase at Wrestle Kingdom 15 against Satoshi Kojima which took place on January 4, 2021.
