New Japan has posted the full match of the finals of the 2016 Best of the Super Juniors Tournament between Will Ospreay and Ryusuke Taguchi. Ospreay went on to win the match to become the first British-born wrestler to win the tournament.
Ospreay went on to be in the finals of the tournament last year, in a losing effort to KUSHIDA. Following this, Ospreay has since gone on to be the current IWGP Jr. Champion, in now his second reign with the championship, and will be competing as one of 16 men in this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.
The tournament begins this Friday at Koruaken Hall in Tokyo live on New Japan World at 5:30 AM ET featuring English commentary and runs until June 4. The winner of the tournament will challenge for the IWGP Jr. Championship at the Dominion iPPV on June 9 in Osaka. Should Ospreay, the current champion win the tournament, he will get to pick his challenger at Dominion.
