NWA Legend “Number 1” Paul Jones passes away recently at the age of 75

NWA Legend “Number 1” Paul Jones (Paul Frederik) passed away recently at the age of 75, per a new report by the Mid-Atlantic Gateway website, who keeps up with information and photos of the old Mid-Atlantic territory.

Jones is most known for his reign as NWA TV Champion in the 1970s and for his managerial work following his retirement from the ring, managing the likes of a young Rick Rude, Manny Fernandez, Ivan Koloff and The Powers of Pain.

Jones is also known for his long-standing rivalry with Jimmy Vailant that culminated in multiple stipulation matches that were held during the early years of Starrcade in the 1980s.

There is no known cause of death, nor when the actual date of his passing occurred as of this writing.
