UFC has yet to comment on anything at this point regarding the status of the planned UFC Heavyweight Title unification fight between champion Brock Lesnar and interim champion Frank Mir at UFC 98 on May 23. Mir had arthroscopic knee surgery this week and is in Columbus, OH for tonight’s UFC 96 PPV. He is making an appearance at the Arnold Fitness Expo taking place a few blocks from the Nationwide Arena along with Brock Lesnar. Mir stated in an interview that he can’t do any sparring or grappling for at least four to six weeks after getting the surgery and was hoping for the match to take place over the summer. Mir’s manager Dean Albrecht said the fight was still on for May 23, but they were asking UFC to postpone it. An announcement could be made about the fight at tonight’s PPV.
