Just thought I’d pass along a note of that. The story actually made it onto the front page of my newspaper(The Star-Ledger). I think it’s weird that the Gagne story made front page news, when during the whole Benoit thing, it never did. It was in the front section, but not the front page. However, I thought the article was written to portray the story as a tragedy about a man who was once a hero now reduced to this. If you read the article, you’ll see what I mean. I’m surprised however, that they went into detail about EVERYTHING: his company, who he fought, about his career, how the company went under, and they even covered his imminent domain case with the State of Minnesota. The line that everyone was complaining about “There is speculation he was experiencing a flashback to his wrestling days but it is almost impossible to verify.”, isn’t really a knock to the business. Verne was trained to use holds that could cripple people. As my grandfather is in the early stages of the disease, that IS a common thing. Gagne may have indeed flashed back to when he was in the ring. My grandfather sometimes has flashbacks of when he was in school or the service. That happens. I wish that people would read the WHOLE article before commenting…..
