Recap of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s annual Wrestle Kingdom 13 event at the Tokyo Dome.

Ryusuke Taguci, Togi Makabe and Toru Yano won the NEVER 6-Man No. 1 Contender Gauntlet

The first fall saw Yuji Nagata, David Finlay and Jeff Cobb defeat Yujiro Takahashi, Hangman Page and Marty Scurll. The second fall saw Nagata, Finlay and Cobb defeat Trent Beretta, Chuckie T and Hirooki Goto. The third fall saw Minoru Suzuki, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer defeat Nagata, Finlay and Cobb. The fourth fall saw Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe and Toru Yano defeat Suzuki, Smith and Archer.

Will Ospreay def. Koto Ibushi to win the NEVER Openweight Championship

Ospreay got the win with an elbow to the back of the head of Ibushi followed by the Storm Breaker for the pinfall.

Shingo Takagi and Bushi def. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado and Sho and Yoh to become the new IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions

Shingo got the pinfall on Sho with the Last of the Dragon.

Zack Sabre Jr. def. Tomohiro Ishii to win the RPW British Heavyweight Championship

The finish saw Ishii tap out to a double arm octupus by Sabre.

Evil and Sanada def. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa and The Young Bucks to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions

Jado got involved trying to use a kendo stick. He ended up eating a double superkick. Evil sent Fale to the floor. Sanada attempted a springboard, but ate a superkick from The Bucks. The finish saw Evil and Sanada hit the Magic Killer on Matt Jackson and Sanada followed with a moonsault for the pinfall.

Juice Robinson def. Cody Rhodes w/ Brandi Rhodes to become the new IWGP United States Champion

The finish saw Cody go for the Disaster Kick, but Robinson hit him with a left hand twice and connected with his Pulp Frictions twice to become the new champion. Cody and Brandi were both wearing Jacksonville Jaguars themed gear, referencing the forthcoming AEW.

Taiji Ishimori def. Kushida to become the new IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion

Ishimori hit double knees in the corner and the Bloody Cross to get the pinfall on Kushida.

Jay White def. Kazuchika Okada

The finish saw a series of finisher reversals with Okada connecting with the Rainmaker. When Okada went for a second Rainmaker, White reversed and hit the Blade Runner.

Tetsuya Naito def. Chris Jericho in a No DQ Rules match to become the new IWGP Intercontinental Champion

Lots of brawling around ringside. Jericho got several steel chairs and hit Naito with them. Naito eventually countered with a DDT over the chairs and hit a Codebreaker of his own for a nearfall. At one point Jericho hit a nasty looking spike DDT on Naito over a table at ringside (GIF below). The finish saw Jericho try to use the title belt, but Naito ducked and Jericho hit an exposed turnbuckle. Naito connected with Destino, got a nearfall, hit Jericho with the title and then hit a second Destino to get the pinfall.

Hiroshi Tanahashi def. Kenny Omega to become the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion

Lots of forearms and chops exchanged early. Omega connected with a moonsault off the barricade. Tanahashi crashed through a table when Omega moved, but Omega stopped a count out victory. The finish saw Omega connect with a V-Trigger and Tanahashi countered a One-Winged Angel. Tanahashi hit a sling blade and connected with the High Fly Flow to get the pinfall to become the new champion in the main event.
