Co-host Elaina Maxwell always has a lot of interesting things to say, and she was able to carry host Ric Gillespie on Sunday night’s edition of MMA Sunday. Paul Buentello talked about the potential of young Kirill Sidelnikov and what his next move should be. Paul, in typical fashion, is already again spoiling for a fight, and mused about when that might happen. Paul also wants you to know why he’s in the best shape he’s been in. Anthony Johnson was next to join the show, as he prepares to face Luigi Fioravanti, February 7, at UFC’s Fight Night 17. MMA Sunday is a presentation of Georgia Wrestling History‘s GWH Radio Network, with assistance from the Canvas Chronicle and Combat Hooligans. Click here for the archive.

Tonight’s edition of the Sports Buffet, hosted by ?Chef? Tim Dix, along with Rich Tate, features a look at professional sports in Atlanta, as well as providing the latest on the Jackets and Bulldogs. The broadcast begins at 9:00 PM ET, and is brought to you by the GWHRN. Legendary UGA football coach Vince Dooley will be the guest, and you can also expect recap and analysis of Super Bowl XLIII. World Wrestling Entertainment‘s RAW/ECW crew will be in St. Louis, MO, at the Scottrade Center, tonight, for tonight’s live RAW broadcast, as well as taping ECW, to be broadcast tomorrow night. ROH has also announced that the February 28 event at the New Alhambra Arena in Philadelphia, PA will be their first taping for the new HDNet program, with a newly added date of March 1 for a second taping at the same venue.

Southern Extreme Championship Wrestling was in Carrollton, GA, on January 31 in front of a reported 355 people: Kyle Matthews & Sal “Tinkerbell” Rinauro defeated “the Local Scene” Josh Storm & Rick “the Kick” King. “The Hawaiian Princess” Tracy Taylor defeated Melissa Coates. Cru Jones vs. Micah Taylor ended in a double DQ after both hit the referee. Both wrestlers were fined $500 for their actions. In a semi-final match in the tag title tournament, Bulldog Raines & Josh Storm defeated SECW Champion Colt Derringer & Rob Adonis to advance to the finals. The tables, loser leaves SECW for 30 days match featuring Frankie Valentine vs. Billy Knight ended in a no contest after Sal Rinauro interfered. Rob Adonis eliminated Micah Taylor to win a 9-man battle royal to become the #1 contender for the SECW championship.

SECW will be at the VFW Fairgrounds in Carrollton on February 14. Advertised: Micah Taylor vs. Cru Jones in a street fight. More information to be announced.

United States Wrestling Organization / ATL Wrestling results for January 31 at the Stadium Inn in Nashville, TN, with a reported 93 in attendance: Travis Starr & Trakan Mathias beat Dominator & Chris Norte (w/Ronnie Vegas) when Starr pinned Dominator; Stevie King (with Ronnie Vegas) beat Otis Bass; Harold Knight & Lightning Bolt Kid & Chris Bomb b Convict & Dominator & El Loco Uno (with Ronnie Vegas) when Bomb pinned Uno; Saint beat Anthony Wayne; L.T. Falk beat Rudy Switchblade; ATL Tag Team Champions Psycho Medic & Derrick Neal beat LA Player & D’Angelo (with YT) by DQ when YT hit Medic with a briefcase; Shane Eden & Steven Green & Cody Weatherby beat Damien Payne & Josh Crowe & Kevin James when Green pinned Payne; “Eugene” Nick Dinsmore beat Chris Michaels. Southern States Wrestling results from “Little K Showdown” in Kingsport, TN, on January 30 at the National Guard Armory, with a reported paid attendance of 131: Bobo Brown beat Mike Cooper with his feet on the ropes; TV Champion Nick Hammonds beat Jason Kincaid; Nick Paradise beat National Champion Robbie Cassidy by count out after Beau James came out and ran Cassidy’s head into the ring post; Rebecca Lynn won 3 way over Misty James and Kassie Rains; Ryan Dookie beat Ray Idol; Tony Givens beat Chase Owens (with Ashlee); After the match CWA World Champion Brian Logan ran in and gave Givens a pile driver. Givens was doing a stretcher job, but got off as he was being carried out to let everyone know it would take a lot more than a pile driver to put him out; SSW Champion Cody Ices beat Jamey Gibson by DQ after ref Brandon Cox caught Gibson with knucks; Ricky Morton and The Party Boys (Wayne Adkins and Keith Knox) beat Beau James & Brian Logan & Kole Layton King when Morton pinned King with a small package. After the match, King challenged Morton to a singles match. Morton ran him off. Then, as the Party boys were leaving, they were jumped by James, Logan, Owens, and Paradise until Givens ran them off with a pair of numchucks. Next show is the 18th Anniversary Spectacular on February 13 in Kingpsort.

Pro Wrestling Fusion will be at the PAL Center in Ft. Pierce, FL, on February 7. Advertised: In a steel cage match for the PWF championship, the Sheik defends vs. Steve Madison. Bruce Santee vs. Vordell Walker. Billy Fives vs. Mike Sullivan. Jack Manley vs. Chris Jones. Tickets are $15 for ringside and $10 for general admission.
