During an appearance on Syfy Wire with newly signed All Elite Wrestling star Kenny Omega at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo on Saturday, The Young Bucks confirmed they will defend the AAA Tag Team Championship against the Lucha Bros at the Double or Nothing pay-per view which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25.
Back on March 16 The Young Bucks made a surprise appearance at the the Rey de Reyes event in Mexico and challenged the Lucha Bros for the AAA Tag Team Championship in an impromptu match just after the Lucha Bros won the Tag Team titles from El Texano Jr. & Rey Escorpion. The Young Bucks would go on to defeat the Lucha Bros and capture the AAA Tag Team Championship.
The reason why The Young Bucks could make an appearance at the Rey de Reyes event was due to a partnership between AEW and AAA that was announced back in February.
It is being said that The Young Bucks winning the AAA Tag Team Championship was part of a deal made by AEW so a championship rematch could take place at Double or Nothing.
