Former WWE star revealed as Cody’s opponent for AEW Double or Nothing PPV

During the latest episode of All Elite Wrestling’s “Road to Double or Nothing” (view above) it was revealed that former WWE and WCW star Dustin Rhodes (aka Goldust) will be Cody’s opponent at the Double or Nothing Pay-Per View event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25.

This will mark first time the two real life brothers will face each other in a singles match.

We had reported back in March that Dustin Rhodes’ WWE contract had expired and he was waiting on the 90 day no-compete clause portion of his agreement to end.

In the same report we had posted episode 9 of “Road to Double or Nothing” which had a tease of Goldust at the 8:00 mark where Cody was talking to his seamstress on the phone who asks if she should “stay away from gold.”

After several reports of his WWE status, Goldust had responded on his Twitter by stating that he was still under contract with the company and that everything being said online was “just talk.”

It should also be noted that the MCW Pro Wrestling website is advertising Dustin Rhodes (Goldust) for the promotion’s Tribute to the Legends show on April 27 in Joppa, MD.  He could not appear at this show under a contract with WWE.
