Terri Runnels arrested

Former WWE Superstar Terri Runnels, who worked for the company from 1995 to 2004 in various roles, was arrested on Wednesday, May 29 for carrying a concealed Glock 9mm handgun according to a report on TMZ.

This is considered a Class 3 felony, a charge that carries up to 5 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.

Runnels issued a statement on Twitter stating that this was a genuine accident. She claims she keeps the handgun while at her mother’s house to shoot armadillos and other animals that attack the chickens and ruin the property. She says she simply forgot that she had the weapon in her carry-on luggage.

Runnels appeared in WWE first as the manager of Goldust (Dustin Runnels, who she was married to from 1993 to 1999) under the name Marlena and then as a wrestler and backstage interviewer. She is a one-time WWE Hardcore Champion.
