Introduction

Welcome to the latest edition of “Predictions from the Faculty”. This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming WWE Pay-Per-View, known as Fatal 4-Way. I honestly can’t think of anything clever to provide since this is the first edition of this format. With that said, I guess I only have one thing to say.

Happy Father’s Day to all who have their fathers in life and in heart. I know I will be spending my day with Old Man V and reminisce on some old-school wrestling (or just watch NASCAR, I don’t know yet).

In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists on WrestleView provide predictions on who they thing will win the matches. We accumulate throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case it will be Royal Rumble 2011).

What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. All the readers have to do is either leave me a message on Facebook or e-mail at mistervwv@hotmail.com. The winner among the “WrestleView Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks under the “Student of the Week” tab in the predictions standings. We all thank you for your participation.

Before we present our picks for WWE’s Fatal 4-Way, here are the current standings. We have a NEW Dean of WrestleView right now, and that is David Stephens. Dean Stephens cannot rest though, as we have many in striking distance and are craving a spot of the Dean’s Chair.

Current Standings (as of TNA’s Slammiversary)

1) David Stephens (That’s a Wrap and RAW Recapper)………….44-25 (7-2)
2) Josh Boutwell (Viva La Raza and TNA Recapper)……………….43-26 (5-4)
3) Jose Marrero (Wrestling Rumblings)……………………………………43-26 (8-1)
4) Students of the Week (The Best from Prev. PPV)………………42-27 (6-3)*
5) Matt O’Brien (Notes From The Nosebleeds)…………………………40-29 (6-3)
6) Daniel Browne (For Queen and Country)……………………………..40-29 (6-3)
7) WrestleView Students (The Loyal Readers)………………………..39-30 (5-4)
8) Anthony Valvo (From the Desk of Mr. V/ROH Recaps)……….38-31 (7-2)
9) Mike Tedesco (Smackdown and NXT Recapper)…………………37-25 (5-4)
10) Doug Lackey (Reality From Ringside)………………………………….36-33 (6-3)
11) Jeff Springer (WWE Superstars Recapper)……………………………30-19 (5-4)
12) Sean Hurley (The Sharpshooter)………………………………………..28-32 (0-0)
13) Joe Baiamonte (Baiamonte’s Casa/2009 WV Champ)………24-20 (0-0)

The only student of the week for the WWE Fatal 4-Way is Brian Czygan. Brian went 8-1 for the TNA Slammiversary VIII PPV and earned the title this week. To unseat him, a “WrestleView Student” has to score better than Mr. Czygan. If there is a tie between the Student of the Week and the WV Student, the Student of the Week retains. I thank Brian for competing with us.

Excused this week (as of press time) are the following columnists: Daniel Browne, Sean Hurley, and Joe Baiamonte.

And now…our predictions for Fatal 4-Way

Predictions

Currently all matches are for a championship belt. The press time was Saturday night so if any other matches are added they will not count in our predictions.

FATAL 4-WAY MATCH FOR THE WWE DIVA’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Eve Torres (c) vs. Maryse vs. Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox

David S. – EVE TORRES. Everything in me says pick Maryse. Literally everything. I have no idea why I am picking Eve, because every bone in my body says Maryse.

Josh B. – MARYSE.

Jose M. – MARYSE how many months can she lose to Eve Torres? Plus Melina is coming back.

Brian C. – I haven’t see a women’s match since i was ten. I really don’t care, MARYSE is really hot so I’ll go with her.

Matt O. – MARYSE.

Anthony V. – First off, I can take Gail Kim and Alicia Fox off this list because they have no chance at winning this match. None! Now, on to the two that matter here and who will win this match. Maryse has had Eve’s number for weeks on Raw, so that means that on Pay-Per-View EVE TORRES gets her revenge and retains her title.

Mike T. – MARYSE will reign supreme.

Doug L. – MARYSE via the only viable angle that could emerge from this match. If Eve won, then what else could there be to come from this division? If Kim, then we’re going to have an honor feud between her and Eve (BOO!!!). If Alicia, then… um… huh?

Jeff S. – EVE TORRES.

Consensus: MARYSE will win the Diva’s Championship according to our faculty. We predicted no chance at all for Gail or Alicia. Eve Torres, the current champion, only won a few hearts out of this faculty. However, this Pay-Per-View will go to The French Beauty.

Maryse 6; Eve Torres 3; Gail Kim and Alicia Fox 0.

SINGLES MATCH FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP

The Miz (c) vs. R-Truth

David S. – THE MIZ pretty confident on this one.

Josh B. – THE MIZ.

Jose M. – THE MIZ because he didn’t win the title to immediately lose it back.

Brian C. – Tough call, both guys could really use the belt right now, I’ll go with THE MIZ simply because he’s way better as a champ then R-Truth is.

Matt O. – MIZ.

Anthony V. – They gave him the championship and R-Truth is not the guy that is next-in-line. THE MIZ retains and it will be awesome.

Mike T. – THE MIZ.

Doug L. – THE MIZ via the inevitable angle of all the angles to ever be defined as angles. Miz holds onto the strap. A slow build up to his new challenger to said strap… John Morrison. Morrison gets the strap at Summerslam allowing for respective pushes.

Jeff S. – R-TRUTH.

Consensus: THE MIZ will retain his United States Championship once this match over a very popular R-Truth.

The Miz 8; R-Truth 1.

SINGLES MATCH FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

David S. – KOFI KINGSTON very confident on this match.

Josh B. – KOFI KINGSTON.

Jose M. – KOFI KINGSTON via interference of Matt Hardy.

Brian C. – DREW MCiNTYE is on right now, watching him make Teddy Long cry was great. Let’s take the belt off of the “controlled frenzy” and put it on the real champ.

Matt O. – MCINTYRE.

Anthony V. – Let’s see, in the go-home show on Smackdown McIntyre took out some wrestlers which means the faces will get their revenge on “The Chosen One”. Though I smell a DQ win for Drew, I am going to go with KOFI KINGSTON to hit the S.O.S. once again and retain the IC belt.

Mike T. – KOFI KINGSTON.

Doug L. – McINTYRE via who the hell cares?! Well actually I do and here are the questions for you. If Kofi were to keep it, who would be the next contender? Is Ziggler over enough? Rhodes has yet to be seen on SD since his brand debut. Kane’s too busy exacting terrible vengeance. *smirks*

Jeff S. – KOFI KINGSTON.

Consensus: Paradise will be nice for KOFI KINGSTON after the weekend. The faculty predicted him to retain the Intercontinental Title, although some columnists predict a change due to Drew’s power.

Kofi Kingston 6; Drew McIntyre 3.

FATAL 4-WAY MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Jack Swagger (c) vs. The Big Show vs. CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio

David S. – JACK SWAGGER. He needs to win this match as a matter of legitimacy

Josh B. – SWAGGER.

Jose M. – CM PUNK because he just deserves it.

Brian C. – Swagger has been a terrible world champion its time to put the belt on Smackdown’s top performer. CM PUNK gets the win he deserves, probably with help from Kane.

Matt O. – PUNK. I would like to see him and Mysterio main event Summerslam for the title.

Anthony V. – This match will be the toughest to call because I think each wrestler has a strong chance of winning. I think someone (Punk or Mysterio) will hit their finisher. The Big Show meanwhile was hit from behind by JACK SWAGGER. Swagger then takes out one more man and pins somebody to get the win and retain his title for one more month.

Mike T. – JACK SWAGGER.

Doug L. – MYSTERIO via the number of possibilities after it happens!!! Mysterio-Punk 3 month program part 2! Mysterio-Swagger rematch: MEGA-BADA$$! Mysterio-Kane?! And ‘Money in the Bank’ PPV comes up with a potential unknown getting the opportunity to get the ultimate over… taking Rey’s title! IMMEDIATE HEAT!

Jeff S. – JACK SWAGGER.

Consensus: Though the WWE said Swagger will only have a 25% chance of retaining, this roster predicts JACK SWAGGER has a 55% change of retaining his championship. Some picked the leader of Straight Edge and there was even one pick for Rey Mysterio, but the Faculty predicts Swagger to successfully defend the title.

Jack Swagger 5; CM Punk 3; Rey Mysterio 1; Big Show 0.

FATAL 4-WAY FOR THE WWE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Edge

David S. – JOHN CENA. Sheamus will be winning this match due to the interference of the NXT Seven. However, I don’t predict against Cena. So even though he will lose this match, I am picking him officially.

Josh B. – CENA.

Jose M. – I really want to say a “No Contest” but I will go with CENA just because I think the NXT invasion angle has more steam with him as champion.

Brian C. – God how many times will Cole shove the 25% crap down our throats. Anyway I don’t see them taking the belt of one face to put it on another plus Orton is great with or without the belt. I feel like they want to keep the belt off Edge for a while (after winning it so much while he was on SD!) so i think its a tossup between Cena and Sheamus…….. unfortunately CENA always seems to win these toss ups, I’ll take him.

Matt O. – ORTON. I can see NXT costing Cena the title then beating down Orton the next night on Raw and taking the championship.

Anthony V. – Usually I never bet against Cena. I don’t know when the last time Cena lost the title, but I remember Big Show once throwing him into a spotlight. I remember that someone finds a way to find kryptonite a couple PPVs a year. I think the seven NXT rookies are Cena’s kryptonite and will cost him the title. So, who will pick up the title? It is going to be SHEAUMS! I think Orton is too hurt and The Celtic Warrior to me took Edge’s top heel spot. Here’s to SummerSlam, Sheamus!

Mike T. – JOHN CENA.

Doug L. – SHEAMUS via what I remember seeing from Raw live last Monday. During NXT/Raw schmoz, who was the last one to come out? When everyone left the ring area to go after NXT, who was left in the ring? Remember the string of matches we had with Cena and Orton last year? Imagine them with Sheamus this time around!

Jeff S. – EDGE.

Consensus: Wow, this is one of the first times that we have a four way match and each wrestler got at least one pick. Though some of the faculty members think this is the end of his title reign, most of us chose JOHN CENA to win despite the fact that once again, the odds are not in his favor.

John Cena 5; Sheamus 2; Randy Orton 1; Edge 1.
