Former MLW star Teddy Hart charged with strangulation resulting in bodily harm

Former Major League Wrestling star Teddy Hart was arraigned Friday morning in Richmond, Virginia.

Hart, real name Edward Annis, was arrested on Thursday and charged with strangulation resulting in bodily harm.

Under Virginia law, strangulation is considered a class six felony and could lead to 1 to 5 years in prison and a $2,500 fine.

Hart is currently being held without bail at the Richmond County Jail and is scheduled for an April 24 hearing.

Hart’s arrest comes following a video independent wrestler Ace Montana posted to his Facebook page with accusations that Hart physically assaulted Ring of Honor star Maria Manic.

Montana posted the following along with the video:

“I literally had to pull my gun on #Teddyhart and throw him out of my friends house. This piece of s— literally choked out and physically assaulted Maria Manic and would not let her get help. she texted me I’m in danger never ever did I think I would meet a piece of s—like this guy who has now been arrested with a felony against him. I don’t think this guy knew how close to death he was. #f—youteddyheart This video is me kick him out before the cops came and arrested him.”

Hart has continually denied the allegations in the video.

This is Hart’s third arrest for this year.  His first arrest was back on February 12 for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession with the intent to distribute. His second arrest came on March 4 due to a violation of his house arrest.

Hart is scheduled for an April 23 court date for the February 12 arrest.

MLW released Hart his contract last December.
