“Buff” Bagwell under investigation for serious accident

The Cobb County (Georgia) website is reporting that former WCW star Marcus “Buff” Bagwell is under investigation for serious traffic accident.

According to the site, the Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating the traffic collision that occurred on Cumberland Boulevard east of Cumberland Parkway on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at 5:18 pm ET.

Investigators are reporting that a black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, which was driven by Bagwell, was traveling west on Cumberland Boulevard, approaching Cumberland Parkway when he lost control while negotiating a curve. The Tahoe collided with the center median and metal fence within the median before continuing west across the eastbound lanes. The Chevrolet Tahoe then collided with the curb before colliding into a free-standing bathroom at the Cobb County Transit bus station. Bagwell was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. Investigators believe Bagwell was impaired by prescription medication during the collision.

The 50-year-old Bagwell wrestled in WCW from 1991 until the company was purchased by WWE in March 2001. He only made a few appearances in WWE and was fired by the company in July 2001. Bagwell made then made several appearances in TNA in 2002, 2003 and 2006.

Bagwell still makes occassional appearances on the independent wrestling scene.

As of this report, the collision still remains under investigation.
