Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones, Jr. Exhibition bout ends in a draw

WWE Hall of Famer Mike Tyson returned to the boxing ring last night for the first time in 15 years.

The exhibition boxing match that took place last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California between Mike Tyson, 54 and Roy Jones, Jr., 51 ended in a draw.

It should be noted the end result of the fight is not official because this was an exhibition.  The bout was scored by former WBC judges Chad Dawson, Christy Martin, Vinny Pazienza for entertainment purposes.

The fight consisted of eight two minute rounds using 12 oz. gloves.

The California State Athletic Commission sanctioned the bout.  However, it was stated by the Commission there would be strict rules neither man would go for any knockouts, and there would be no stoppages due to blood, which would then have resulted in some type damage control.

In the co-main event, YouTube celebrity Jake Paul knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson cold in the second round in what became a viral.

Former WWE SmackDown and NXT play-by-play announcer Mauro Ranallo led the announcing team.

WWE Hall of Famer, Snoop Dogg, who is the real-life cousin of current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, provided commentary for the Jake Paul/Nate Robinson bout. During the bout, Ranallo had joked with Snoop that his cousin [Sasha Banks] was enjoying the wrestling and that Robinson might get a WWE contract.

The replay can be ordered through FITE TV.
