Joey Mercury files lawsuit against Ring of Honor and Sinclair Broadcasting

Joey Mercury files lawsuit against Ring of Hono

According to F4WOnline, Adam Birch, better known from his time in Ring of Honor as Joey Mercury, has filed a lawsuit against the company and it’s owner Sinclair Broadcasting Group.

It is being said Birch filed the suit in the state of Maryland alleging he was misclassified as an independent contractor rather than an employee by ROH and Sinclair.

The lawsuit by Birch claims he was forced to resign due to the company’s lack of concern regarding talent, and working without a “commensurate increase” in pay. Birch’s suit also claims Sinclair and ROH failed to respond to his complaints regarding what he saw as an unsafe working environment. He also claimed that he was paid substantially less than others who were performing the same work, and is also seeking royalties.

Birch worked as a producer for Ring of Honor from May of 2018 through October of 2019.

We reported last month that former three-time ROH Women’s Champion Kelly Klein filed a lawsuit against ROH and Sinclair, claiming discrimination, sexual harassment, unsafe work environment, breach of implied contract, unpaid royalties, violations of both state and Federal equal pay acts, and abusive discharge.
