Highlights from “Ring of Honor On the Road” (w/Kevin Kelly), courtesy of The Mayhem’s official correspondent, Paterson from New Jersey:

How important is it for ROH to set the tone for the new year in their first main event of 2011 this Friday night (ROH World Champion Roderick Strong, ROH World Television Champion “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, & ROH World Tag Team Champions The Kings of Wrestling vs. Davey Richards, El Generico, & The Briscoes): “I think every Ring of Honor event is unique & a must-see, because there is not such thing as a night off when you’re on the Ring of Honor roster. When we’re in Richmond Friday night, what we’re looking at is no champion wants to be pinned. No titles are going to be on the line, and it’s simply for pride, but nobody wants to get beat. That in itself, combined with the egos & the combustible elements on both sides of the ring, makes this match the headliner of a must-see event.”

Why the Grudge Match between Rhett Titus & “The Notorious 187” could steal the show in Ring of Honor’s return to Richmond: “Rhett Titus has stepped up his game. He & Kenny King improved on the roster in 2010, with Rhett the more improved over Kenny. Homicide has a title shot in his back pocket, and Rhett has been focused on tag team wrestling lately. I want to see how Rhett steps up his game against a real veteran. I also want to see how Homicide feels. There has been a lot of rumors, and you could never pin Homicide down in terms of how he’s feeling. Physically, what’s his condition? I think we’ll get a lot of indication on that.”

Which three talents in ROH have the most to prove in 2011: “A lot of people forget what El Generico went through. I want to see how he is physically & mentally after putting everything to bed once & for all with Kevin Steen. I want to see how Rhett Titus steps up, and I want to see how Colt Cabana continues to step up. There’s a lot of guys that have a lot to prove, with Generico to me topping the list.”

The talk of the wrestling world the past 48 hours has been the news of Ring of Honor’s forthcoming departure from HDNet beginning this April. What lies ahead for the televised future of ROH in 2011 & beyond? Kevin will return to The Mayhem LIVE next Monday night (beginning at 7PM ET/6PM CT) for an all-new edition of “Ring of Honor On the Road” to discuss his candid thoughts & comments on this, plus so much more!
