Jonathan Gresham injured, pulled from PROGRESS events on Sunday and Monday

ROH and PROGRESS World Champion Jonathan Gresham is injured, and has been pulled from the PROGRESS 132 event on Sunday, April 17 and the PROGRESS 133 event set for Monday, April 18.

On Sunday, PROGRESS posted a video of Gresham announcing his injury, noting he will be back at their May 15 event. Soon after the video from Gresham, PROGRESS announced Kid Lykos will replace Gresham, and will square off against Chris Ridgeway on Sunday’s show.

Gresham did not specify the the injury. However, according to Fightful, it was said Gresham was checked for a possible concussion, following his successful ROH Title defense against Dalton Castle on Friday’s AEW Battle of the Belts II taping. There have been some reports that say Gresham suffered the injury after taking a gutwrench suplex, and landing on his shoulder and head, which has not been confirmed as of this writing.

Gresham is currently scheduled to face Eddie Edwards at the IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view on Saturday, April 23.

Gresham said the following in the video:

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to London this weekend for the Sunday and Monday events due to an injury. I have not been cleared to compete. I do want to apologize to PROGRESS and the fans for not being able to make it this weekend. I really wanted to, but my health comes first and I have to just take a little time off. Once I’m cleared, I’ll definitely be back and I really look forward to being back, working with PROGRESS, and performing for you guys. Please, keep me in your prayers. I’d really appreciate it. I’ll see you all next time, and thank you for understanding.”
