Brock Lesnar loses, says he is retiring from MMA

Moments ago at UFC 141, Alistar Overeem def. Brock Lesnar via TKO in the first round at 2:26. Following the fight, Lesnar announced that he would be retiring from the sport of MMA.

“I’ve had a really difficult couple years with my disease. And I’m officially going to say this is the last time you’ll see me in the octagon.”

Friday night was Lesnar’s first fight back in UFC since October 2010. He had battled a second serious bout with diverticulitis to make his return. Lesnar ends his MMA career with 5 wins, 3 losses and one reign as UFC Heavyweight Champion.

UFC’s official Twitter account commented on Lesnar’s loss and even started tossing out the idea of a possible return to WWE adding, “Brock says he’s retiring – do you think we’ll see him again in the Octagon? How about in another type of ring – guesses on WWE?”
