UK Church brings in live pro wrestling as a way to share the Gospel

St. Peter’s Church located in the town of Shipley in the United Kingdom brings in live professional wrestling each month as a way to share the Gospel.

The promotion is called Kingdom Wrestling, which was launched in 2018.

The promotion’s founder Gareth “Angel” Thompson told Channel 5 News they use the good versus evil stories in the Bible as a way to reach both church attenders and to entice those who do not attend a weekly service to come and here the good news of Jesus Christ.

In addition to be a wrestler, Thompson uses Kingdom Wrestling as a way to reach people with his story on how Jesus Christ changed his life.

“I was abused as a kid. my dad left my mom drank quite heavily. I was homeless at 15 living in a skip so wrestling was my thing. I’d go to my Nan’s on a Friday to escape home life and she put on World of Sport…then we’d watch the WWF and I saw these guys and I was like I want to be like them…whenever I shared my story with people to tell them about what Jesus has done for me when I told him I was a wrestler they paid attention…”
