ESPN Chicago is reporting that former Chicago Bears defensive tackle and WCW wrestler Steve “Mongo” McMichael will be running for mayor of Romeoville, Illinois.
“They’ve been mentioning to me that they’re not happy, and they want me to run for mayor. And by God, when I came to be a man, I put away childish things, I’m going to do it. I’ve got a little girl … and she’s going to start school soon. I’ve already moved to Romeoville and I plan on her getting her education here. What better opportunity do I have to do for my child and everybody else’s child in this town as mayor of that town (then by) doing something about educating them the right way. I want you to realize, and you guys can hear this in my voice, I’m dead serious about this. This is not a joke. I don’t take people’s futures and their family’s futures lightly, baby.”
