Update on Ring of Honor’s Tommaso Ciampa

As has been addressed previously, “The Sicilian Psychopath” Tommaso Ciampa suffered a knee injury in the opening moments of his 2/3 Falls battle at “Boiling Point 2012” against Jay Lethal. Despite the injury, Ciampa, like the warrior he has proven himself to be, persevered and managed to score one fall before ultimately succumbing to Lethal.

Ciampa had hoped to compete at the upcoming September ROH events scheduled for Charlotte, Chicago Ridge, and Baltimore but ROH officials have learned that the injury is possibly more severe that first thought, perhaps even a severe ACL tear.

ROH officials reached out to RD Evans for confirmation on the medical records however RD Evans is not releasing them from the doctor so officials are still in the dark as to exactly how severe the injury may be.

When informed that ROH officials needed to see the medical records in order to clear Tommaso for action, The Barrister still withheld that information and simply stated that his client “…is fine and good to compete in any and all upcoming Ring of Honor events.”

Regardless, ROH cannot put the safety of Tommaso at risk and effectively immediately ROH officials are pulling Ciampa off of “Caged Hostility” on September 8th. The remainder of the events in September will be addressed as they get closer, but ROH officials will not clear Tommaso until they receive documents from doctors saying he is okay.
