Dave Bautista without an opponent for MMA debut

A few days ago it was revealed that former WWE star Dave Bautista’s first MMA opponent, Rashid Evans, was incarcerated after violating terms of his probation when he was caught driving without his license. Evans won’t be released until after the fight which was scheduled for this Saturday.

MMAJunkie.com is featuring an interview with Bautista where he notes he doesn’t watch the WWE product all that much feeling everyone, in his opinion, is “Real World” kids more concerned with how their hair looks and how much baby oil they have on.

“I just want the experience. I don’t have any ulterior motive. I just want to do it because I love it so much. For people like that, I don’t think it would matter what I might say. I’m doing this for personal reasons. People are going to support me or they’re not. I was talking to ‘King’ Mo [Lawal] not long ago, since he’s going into professional wrestling for the first time, and that’s the first thing he told me was, don’t listen to the haters, because they’re going to hate no matter what. If getting punched in the face is the worst thing about it, sign me up. I’ve been dropped. I’ve been kicked to where I couldn’t walk. But I still love it. If I get my butt kicked, I might not want to do it again. I imagine I’m going to be terrified, but that’s part of the challenge.”
