Law created by WWE’s Zeb Colter and family passes Senate

Amelia’s Law, a law that would allow a judge to order offenders and parolees to wear monitoring devices if alcohol or drugs played a role in their crimes, was passed this week by the Tennessee Senate. The law was created in honor of Amelia Keown, the granddaughter of legendary wrestler Dutch Mantell and current WWE star Zeb Colter, who was killed in a car accident in August 2012 by a parolee who was trying to out run highway patrol. Both were killed in the accident with toxicology reports revealing he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Keown was only 16 years old.

WBIR in Nashville featured a story on the law being passed by the Senate and noted that Governor Bill Haslam will have it on his desk shortly for final approval.
