Jury awards Hulk Hogan another $25 million in damages

The Associated Press is reporting that a jury has awarded WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan an additional $25 million in punitive damages, adding to the $115 million Hogan was awarded on Friday against Gawker Media for the online publishing of a sex tape.

Attorneys for Hogan noted that jurors were in a position to “send a message” and deter others from actions like this in the future. Kenneth Turkel, an attorney for Hogan, said the award was to punish recklessness and to send a message to other media companies.
