Here are some of the highlights of Eddie’s interview, provided by Mayhem listener, Paterson from New Jersey:

The “Metal Genius” himself & one of the hosts of VH-1 Classic’s “That Metal Show,” Eddie Trunk, joined The Mayhem for an in-depth interview about all things metal. As many people know (and some don’t), he is friends with WWE SmackDown superstar, Chris Jericho, and The Mayhem Crew wanted to know Eddie’s feelings about his foray into music with Jericho’s group Fozzy & if there will be any appearances on the “That Metal Show” in his future. “Chris is a great friend of mine, and we met because Chris was a fan of my radio show. Apparently he had tried to get in my show, and a number had tried to book him, and I was resistant to it. I really know who Chris Jericho in the wrestling world, but also he was also in the mode after doing Fozzy, where he did not want to address him as Chris Jericho, the wrestler, but as Moondog whatever. And I couldn’t get down with that whole storyline they were pushing. So I said I would have this guy if he just talked music & not that whole thing.”

Eddie continued on by answering the question that many Y2J fans across the globe want to know: Could we see Jericho as one of the hosts of “That Metal Show,” if the program goes into a third season. “The thing about Chris is that he is a legit hardcore metal fan, and that is what made him work so well with me & my show. In the case of ‘That Metal Show,’ we wanted him the first two seasons as he would be an ideal guest but its just a case of scheduling. His schedule now that he is full back into wrestling is literally all over the globe everyday. We shoot on certain days, because we have a live audience, so if you’re not available on as a guest on those locked in days we have to shoot. Unfortunately, we cant accommodate those guests.”

Eddie & Jericho were in Los Angeles earlier this month for the premiere of the new documentary “Anvil: The Story Of Anvil.” What did Eddie think of being able to “break bread” with Chris in a non-wrestling setting: “I was with him in L.A., and we did go over to the ‘Anvil’ premiere together. I got him into the Anvil premiere & got him to meet the director of the film.” In a show of sheer star-sighting, Eddie told this story to the Mayhem. “It was a really cool thing to see this Anvil movie & being in the theater…and Chris nudged me during the screening, and he said ‘Look who’s sitting in front of you.’ It was Dustin Hoffman, and never in a million years would I ever be in Hollywood and for a premiere on a movie on Anvil & see Dustin Hoffman watching the band play in front of me.”
