NKT UK results, Oct. 31, 2018 – Part 1: Zack Gibson overcomes Noam Dar in intense NXT UK showdown

On an explosive NXT UK, The Scottish Supernova fell short against Liverpool’s No. 1. Plus, Flash Morgan Webster overcame Mark Coffey, Danny Burch took down Sam Gradwell in his debut match and Trent Seven defeated Saxon Huxley.

Trent Seven def. Saxon Huxley

In his first singles match on NXT UK, Trent Seven faced off with the grizzled Saxon Huxley. After coming up short at the first U.K Tournament in Blackpool, Huxley was ready to take NXT UK by storm, and he attacked Seven with determined aggression. Seven answered head-on with an explosive DDT, but when he attempted to follow up with his first attempt at the Seven Stars Lariat, The Muscle Cat countered by hurling his entire body at his opponent, then proceeding to ground Seven with several near-falls. The WWE Universe was left stunned as Seven couldn’t seem to get out of the gate.

But Seven roared back with an earth-shattering Seven Stars Lariat and answered Huxley’s boot to the face with a huge back bodydrop and Snap Suplex combination. Sensing victory, Seven then finished off his opponent by hitting the Torture Rack into the Burning Hammer for the win.

Flash Morgan Webster def. Mark Coffey

Flash Morgan Webster was out for retribution as he squared off with Mark Coffey, two weeks after the Welshman came to Mark Andrews’ aid and fended off another attack from The Coffey Brothers.

Webster countered Coffey’s aggression with a series of fast-moving armdrags, a hurricanrana and a flip onto his dazed opponent for the near-fall, but after the first of several distractions by Joe Coffey, Mark took over with a Spinning Uppercut, clearing the road for a massive beatdown by the tough competitor that nearly took Morgan out of the contest. Refusing to give in, Webster came roaring back with an innovative offense, including the hurling himself upside down at his opponent off the ropes. And when Joe Coffey tried to get in Webster’s way as The Modfather attempted to dive at Mark outside the ring, Webster simply swung around the ring post and took out Mark with another hurricanrana.

Joe’s distractions kept coming, however, until Webster hit the meddling sibling with a fierce kick off the apron. And when Mark tried to make him pay for it with another Suplex, Webster reversed with a crucifix pin and picked up the huge victory.

As the smoke cleared, Joe inevitably attacked Webster, but Mark Andrews & Travis Banks emerged to stop another Coffey Brothers onslaught.

Danny Burch def. Sam Gradwell

The match between Blackpool native Sam Gradwell and “The Governor” Danny Burch started with an all-out slugfest, signaling a hard-fought matchup from the get-go.

Out of this back-and-forth struggle, Burch took out Gradwell with a thunderous German Suplex and clothesline combination for the near fall. Gradwell fired back with a Falcon Arrow, nearly getting the three-count.

In the height of the action, Gradwell got ahold of his opponent’s ear, but Burch broke free with a fierce right hand. This soon led to a serious exchange of fiery blows to the body by both competitors before Burch connected with a wicked headbutt, hosting his foe up on the ropes for an incredible DDT for the win in one of the hardest-hitting matches to date in NXT UK.

In the aftermath, Burch made it clear that he was setting his sights firmly on United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne.

Zack Gibson def. Noam Dar

Even though Noam Dar stood toe-to-toe with United States Champion Pete Dunne in a title bout several weeks ago, The Scottish Supernova was called an “embarrassment” by Zack Gibson and would now battle Liverpool’s No. 1 in NXT UK’s main event.

Though Dar appeared to be more interested in having fun and mocking Gibson by trying to take his opponent’s boot off in the early goings, he quickly changed gears and went to work on Gibson’s knee. It wasn’t long before Gibson also began to execute his painful game plan by beginning to zero in on Dar’s left arm.

Following a series of pin attempts by both competitors, Dar wasted no time going back to work on Gibson’s knee with a fierce kick. Then, Gibson dragged his left arm over the top rope like a slingshot before Dar fired back with a fierce kick to the legs that took his opponent off apron. And once the action moved outside the ring, Dar then flew at Gibson’s knee yet again.

Back in the squared circle, Gibson’s Key Hook signaled the beginning of a fierce assault on Dar, and it wasn’t long before Gibson once again went back after the arm.

As the resilient Dar rallied back, Gibson made him eat a kick for his troubles. Dar then returned the favor by kicking Gibson off the turnbuckle with another attack on his opponent’s leg before executing a running elbow and a Northern Lights Suplex for the near-fall. He continued on the warpath until Gibson stopped him with a double chop to the throat, paving the way for a devastating maneuver off the turnbuckle for the near-fall.

Minute by minute, the bout grew more intense, as Gibson tried to apply the Shankly Gates, only to have Dar reach the ropes before he could apply the deadly submission. Moments later, Dar pulled Gibson out of the ring, but he paid for it when Gibson hurled him into the nearby stage, and Dar just beat the 10-count.

Back in the ring, Gibson finally locked in Shankly Gates, but Dar reached the ropes. The defiant Dar refused to give in, fighting back with everything he had, and he eventually caught his foe in the kneebar. Gibson fired back, avoided Dar’s attempt at the double stomp and tattooed The Scottish Supernova with Helter Skelter for the victory.

NXT UK results, Oct. 31, 2018 – Part 2: The Coffey Brothers & Wolfgang unleash all-out destruction on Andrews & Webster

Following a mysterious attack on Travis Banks backstage, Mark Andrews stepped up to square off against Wolfgang. Andrews got more than he bargained for, however, and Wolfgang joined forces with Joe & Mark Coffey to lay waste to him and The Modfather.

Moustache Mountain def. Saxon Huxley & Sam Gradwell

After throwing down the gauntlet on every emerging tag team in NXT UK, former NXT Tag Team Champions Tyler Bate & Trent Seven reemerged to take on newly formed tandem of Saxon Huxley & Sam Gradwell.

From the jump, Huxley & Gradwell showed impressive cohesion as a tag team when Huxley pushed his opponent to the ground and Gradwell used a distraction to attack Seven outside the ring. They then proceeded to cut the ring in half with absolute brutality to prevent Bate from getting in on the action.

That all changed when Seven neutralized his opponents before dodging out of the way and sending both Huxley & Gradwell crashing to the ringside floor. He then tagged in Bate, who launched himself over the ropes to take out both foes like a human catapult.

Back in the ring, Bate took charge of Huxley, using his incredible agility to execute a Standing Shooting Star for a near-fall. Seven reemerged to attempt the Snap Dragon Suplex, but Huxley thwarted that effort, tagging in Gradwell, who quickly propped up Seven for Huxley to hit a unique Backstabber into Gradwell’s Single-leg Crab.

In response, Bate charged in and used Huxley as a human battering ram to nail Gradwell and break up the submission. Seven’s spinning backfist staggered Gradwell enough to prevent him from seeing Bate get tagged into the match. And, in the final moments, Bate and Seven used this advantage to hit a Snap Dragon Suplex, and Moustache Mountain emerged victorious in their first tag team outing.

Isla Dawn def. Nina Samuels

When Nina Samuels failed show Isla Dawn the proper respect in the early moments of her NXT UK debut, The Modern-Day Witch answered with a pair of hard kicks. Samuels would catch her opponent’s arm on the ropes, though, opening the door for her to unleash an impressive attack on her Isla’s left arm with vicious intent.

Nevertheless, the resilient Isla battled back with more kicks before reversing a Suplex into a small package for a near-fall. Ducking out of the way of Samuel’s kick, she then followed up with one more devastating kick before executing an innovative Suplex of her own for the three-count.

Clearly, the competition is truly fierce with the NXT UK Women’s Title about to be introduced.

Jordan Devlin def. Tucker

Though Jorden Devlin’s NXT UK debut was highly-anticipated, that didn’t stop his opponent Tucker from using his athleticism to take charge early in their matchup with a Step-up enzuigiri . Devlin answered back with a Standing Moonsault before aggressively going after Tucker’s left arm.

Tucker tried to battle back, only to run headlong into a fierce dropkick. The war-torn competitor hit the Sling Blade, though, charging Devlin in the corner before following up with a Flatliner for the near fall.

With Tucker’s arm giving him trouble, his delay climbing to the top rope cost him, and his subsequent Moonsault was met with a double knee by Devlin. The Irish Ace then hoisted his opponent up on his shoulder and sent him crashing to the canvas for the huge debut win.

Mark Andrews def. Wolfgang

After Travis Banks was mysteriously attacked backstage, Mark Andrews asked NXT UK General Manager Johnny Saint to take his friend’s place against Wolfgang in the main event.

Despite the power of his larger opponent, Andrews used his tremendous agility and tenacity to knock him back, taking Wolfgang out of the ring with a hurricanrana, but when he tried to dive after him, Wolfgang caught him outside the ring and planted him on the apron with incredible force.

Back in the ring, Wolfgang attempted to take charge by picking his prey up over his head, but the crafty Andrews escaped and unleashed a flurry of strikes and kicks that kept his howling opponent at bay. With a high-flying offense at his disposal, Andrews picked up a near fall, but when he took to the turnbuckle for another high-flying maneuver, Wolfgang countered with a modified Gutbuster followed by a deviating Spear for the near-fall.

After he missed with an aerial attempt, Andrews connected with a devastating DDT, which took Wolfgang out of the ring. Not wanting to give him a chance to catch his breath, Andrews hurled himself over the top rope like a tornado and sent Wolfgang crashing to the ringside floor in electrifying fashion. With this, Andrews took the action back into the ring, executing the Stundog Millionaire and the earth-shattering Shooting Star Press for the huge triumph.

In the aftermath, Andrews and Wolfgang shook hands in an apparent show of mutual respect, but that all came grinding to a halt when the Coffey Brothers came from the shadows to unleash another savage attack on Andrews before also taking out the emerging Flash Morgan Webster. Then, in a moment that left the WWE Universe completely stunned, Wolfgang suddenly joined The Coffey Brother’s onslaught!
