NXT UK results, Nov. 21, 2018, Episode 1: Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm advance in UK Women’s Title Tournament

In a high-stakes episode of NXT UK, both the ultra-aggressive Rhea Ripley and rockin’ Toni Storm advanced to the Semifinals of the NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament. Plus Jordan Devlin and Ligero light up the U.K. ring in a hard-fought main event.

Rhea Ripley def Xia Brookside – NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match

In the third NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match, feisty Xia Brookside (daughter of British Legend Robbie Brookside) squared off against the imposing Rhea Ripley.

Denying Brookside’s attempt at good sportsmanship with a shove to the face, Ripley matched her opponent’s quick and elusive style with incredible strength and size, blocking a hurricanrana attempt with an earth-shattering buckle bomb into the turnbuckle. The Mosh Pit Kid proved relentless throughout, showing immense strength with a devastating standing vertical delayed suplex, executing kicks that showed her experienced football background and locking her opponent in her excruciating version of a cloverleaf using her arms.

Brookside countered the painful maneuver and hurled Ripley into the turnbuckle face-first, igniting an explosive counterattack that included a fierce bulldog and head scissor takedown. When she tried to attack off the top rope, however Ripley caught her in mid-air and planted her in the center of the ring with the Riptide for the victory.

Eddie Dennis def. Jack Starz

Eddie Dennis entered his match against Jack Starz with a definitive size advantage, and he took down his outmatched opponent with a wicked forearm before unleashing a brutal one-sided beatdown. Starz wouldn’t stay down, and he took his opponent down to one knee with an admirable offensive. The focused Welchman completely sidestepped Starz’s attack off the top rope, however, and launched him into the turnbuckle with the severn bridge before finishing him off with neck stop driver.

Mark Andrews def. “Wild Boar” Mike Hitchman

Armed with a renewed drive for championship gold, Mark Andrews kept the ferocious “Wild Boar” Mike Hitchman at bay with his fast-paced arsenal. Hitchman howled back by planting his opponent’s face on the ring apron, hitting a pair of back sentons and unleashing a solid attack to Andrews’ lower back with his head. Andrews answered with a high-powered enziguiri and a moonsault off the ring apron.

“Wild Boar” proved truly animalistic with a series of headbutts and a monster inverted senton on the corner that earned him an near-fall. And, though Hitchman was able to recover after missing a splash off the top rope in the final moments, Andrews quickly rebounded with a Stun Dog Millionaire out of nowhere and stuck the “Wild Boar” with the defeat after hitting an incredible Shooting Star Press.

Toni Storm def. Isla Dawn – NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match

Toni Storm was completely caught off guard by Isla Dawn’s aggressive attack in the final NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match. The White Witch conjured up a nearly unanswered surprise attack that earned her numerous near-falls before locking in the Rings of Saturn that nearly made Storm tap out. Storm refused to be denied though, roaring back with a left boot that took her ominous opponent off her feet before countering her foe’s series of kicks and finishing her with Storm Zero.

Jordan Devlin def. Ligero

Though Ligero’s lucha libre excellence arsenal proved a huge advantage against Justin Devlin from the opening bell of their main event clash, The Irish Ace answered back by planting his masked opponent on the canvas and hitting his trademark standing moonsault. Devlin used a tough-as-nails approach to slow the pace in a hurry, as he informed Ligero that he is not at his level. Though the Leeds Luchador responded with a serious counter-offensive, he was noticeably hurt in his mid-section, but he fought through the pain and eventually hit the Code Red for the near-fall on what would have been the biggest win of his career.

As the match roared on, Devlin hit a devastating drag onto the backdrop driver that even left WWE NXT UK announcer Nigel McGuinness amazed when Ligero kicked out. After he avoided his opponent’s aerial assault by escaping the ring, Ligero soon hit a head scissors to send him crashing down onto the ringside floor.

Back in the ring, the battle reached the top rope, but when Ligero attempted to splash down on his prey, Devlin saved himself by raising his knees at the last second.

Despite the Spanish Fly by Devlin moments later, Ligero still wouldn’t give in. And when another fierce exchange left Ligero in the Tree of Woe, the masked Superstar simply repositioned himself to send Delvin crashing to the canvas with an overhead toss before hitting the splash on the top rope.

Then, when the intense showdown once again moved through the ropes, Devlin took out Ligero’s leg and caused him to faceplant onto the steel steps. He quickly followed up with a moonsault off the second turnbuckle to the ringside floor. Moment’s later, he planted Ligero in the center of the ring for the impressive win.

In the aftermath, Devlin was screaming Pete Dunne’s name, clearly calling out the NXT UK Champion.

NXT UK results, Nov. 21, 2018, Episode 2: Ripley and Storm win the right to battle each other for the NXT UK Women’s Title

In a pair of intense Semifinals NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament matchups, Rhea Ripley defeated Dakota Kai and Toni Storm overcame Jinny to move to the Finals. Plus “Bomber” Dave Mastiff took on Tyson T-Bone in a clash of the titans and Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews proved their tag team mettle against Saxon Huxley & Joseph Conners.

Rhea Ripley def. Dakota Kai – NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Semifinal Match

The high-stakes NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Semifinal Match between Dakota Kai and Rhea Ripley began with both competitors feeling out the other, inciting a test of strength and several near-falls. Ripley’s attitude of disrespect was met with a fierce kick from her determined opponent. But out of the battle between Ripley’s power and Kai’s fierce arsenal of kicks, Ripley finally caught her opponent with a relentless attack that included a dropkick to Kai’s ear, ramming through Kai in the corner and once again showing amazing strength with her version of the clover leaf submission using the arms.

Kai reached the ropes, though, and when Ripley tried to reapply the maneuver, Kai answered with a series of high-impact kicks and strikes that served as an incredible equalizer to her opponent’s massive power and nearly earned her the pinfall.

Outside the ring, Ripley caught Kai and blasted her face-first into the apron. And, in the final moments, a fierce exchange resulted in Kai missing the crucial kick that opened the door for Ripley to finish her with Riptide to earn her place in the Finals!

Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews def. Saxon Huxley & Joseph Conners

With new teams forming to test their mettle in pursuit of the coming NXT UK Tag Team Titles, Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews joined forces against Saxon Huxley & Joseph Conners. From the get-go, Webster & Andrews showed their lightning quickness and fast-paced arsenal.

Huxley seized the momentum following a hidden tag and a subsequent high-angle Lou Thesz Press that laid waste to Andrews and cleared the road for Huxley and Conners to punish The Welshman.

Andrews soon got to Webster, and while The Modfather’s innovative offense quickly turned the tide, Huxley soon planted him in the center of the ring. When the brutal competitor failed to accept Conner’s urging to tag him in, Webster got to Andrews. The critical mistake opened the door for Webster’s Eton Rifle and Andrews’ Shooting Star Press for the win.

In the aftermath, Conners responded to Huxley’s surprise brushoff with a surprise post-match assault that left his opponent reeling on the canvas.

“Bomber” Dave Mastiff def. Tyson T-Bone

After several moments of friction between the two forces of nature in recent weeks, Dave Mastiff and Tyson T-Bone went to war in a highly volatile showdown.

Despite an earth-shattering shoulder block by the “Bomber,” the hard, brawling strikes of T-Bone overpowered Mastiff and took the massive competitor off his feet for pretty much the first time on NXT UK. T-Bone’s unprecedented assault on Mastiff continued until “Bomber” suddenly dropped down during his opponent’s pin attempt and noticeably hurt T-Bone’s ribs.

Showing unusual agility for a man his size, Mastiff then left his feet to hit a massive high crossbody. And after returning the beatdown he had received in spades, Mastiff hit his trademark Cannonball in the corner for the victory.

Toni Storm def. Jinny – NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Semifinal Match

No strangers to each other, Toni Storm squared off against Jinny in the evening’s second NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Semifinal Match, with both competitors fighting tooth-and-nail in the opening moments.

Storm soon took down her adversary with a devastating boot before locking in her version of the STF in the center of the ring. Though Jinny would reach the ropes, Storm continued her assault, until The Fashionista of NXT UK blasted her with a serious boot. Jinny’s innovative counter to Storm’s charge then sent Storm crashing to the canvas and opened the door for an aggressive assault of her own. The dangerous Jinny grounded Storm in the center of the ring with a painful armbar and pounded on her with a series of hard shots to the back.

As the intense contest continued, a double headbutt soon took both battlers down, but they fought on, and the subsequent exchange led to a devastating German Suplex by Storm. After Jinny escaped the Fisherman’s Suplex that nearly finished her off, the battle moved up onto the ropes, where Jenny almost put Storm away by dropping her opponent’s face to the canvas with the Facebuster off the ropes. Jinny would hit a devastating ax kick, but Storm somehow got her foot on the ropes. And, in the final moments, Storm avoided Jinny’s charge, hit another German Suplex and claimed the huge victory with Storm Zero.

When Storm was checking out the title she will be fighting for in two episodes, Ripley reemerged to initiate a shoving match with her soon-to-be opponent.
