TNA Knockouts Championship
Madison Rayne (c) vs. Angelina Love

I have no idea what that is Angelina is wearing but who cares because she looks damn good in it! Madison then grabs Angelina by the back and slams her hard to the mat! Madison grabs Angelina by the head and slams her into the mat repeatedly and then scores a nearfall. Madison grabs a Front Chancery but Angelina fights it off only to have Madison nail her with a series of Knee Strikes to the face and then a Swinging Neckbreaker. Madison wraps her legs around Angelina’s head and repeatedly slams Angelina’s head into the mat (Alex Shelley used to call that move the “Skull F*ck”). Tenay says that Lacey Von Erich has suffered a broken cheek bone in the Beautiful People scuffle last week as Rayne gets a series of nearfalls. Madison argues with the referee which allows Angelina time to recover and hit Madison with a Jawbreaker. Angelina then ducks a clothesline from Madison and repeatedly grabs Madison by the hair and slams her to the mat. Angelina follows up with a Running Clothesline and then she hits the Botox Injection! The motorcycle chick rides up to the ring and distracts Angelina. The referee demands she leave but then Velvet Sky comes out of nowhere and nails the motorcycle chick with a chair! They shake hands before the match. They lockup and Hardy pushes him away. They lockup again and Moore grabs a wristlock on Hardy as Tenay mentions that he actually saw Hardy and Moore arrive to the arena today together in the same car. Moore hits the ropes and Hardy nails him with an arm drag. Moore answers with an armdrag of his own and they stare each other down. Main Event
TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Stairway to Janice Ladder Match
Special Referee: Eric Bischoff
“Whole F’N Show” Rob Van Dam (c) vs. “The Monster” Abyss

The rules to this match are, well, they aren’t any really. Anything goes in this one but the stipulation is Abyss’ 2×4 with nails sticking out will be hanging above the ring. Whoever goes up and gets it can use it in the match. Pinfall or submission still win the match. Abyss brings a ladder to the ring as he makes his way down. Abyss actually starts climbing up the ladder as RVD was making his entrance so Van Dam had to run down to the ring. He dives off the top with a Flying Back Kick into the ladder knocking Abyss off! RVD then jumps on Abyss in the corner and nails him with repeated right hands. Abyss shoves him off but RVD jumps right back on him! Abyss pushes him off again and then tries to kick RVD but RVD grabs his foot and hits the Stepover Heel Kick! RVD picks up the ladder and slams it into Abyss in the corner. RVD nails Abyss with it again as a “Whole f*cking show” chant starts up. RVD hits Abyss with a Spinning Heel Kick and then he hits a Bulldog on Abyss onto the ladder! RVD then goes for the Rolling Thunder but Abyss rolls out of the way and RVD eats the ladder! Abyss goes out to the floor and grabs the chair again but RVD dropkicks it into Abyss’ face as we go to a break.

——————COMMERCIAL BREAK——————–

Back from commercials RVD has a ladder set up between the ring and the guardrail like a bridge. He’s nailing Abyss with shoulder blocks through the ropes as Abyss is on the apron. Abyss then kicks RVD in the head and goes for a Chokeslam onto the ladder but RVD blocks it with back elbows. RVD then hits a hook kick but Abyss comes back with a clothesline to RVD sending him back into the ring. Abyss picks up the ladder and slams it into RVD in the corner. Abyss picks the ladder back up and slams it into RVD again. Abyss props the ladder up on RVD in the corner and then goes for a Splash but RVD tosses the ladder into Abyss! Abyss grabs the ladder again but RVD grabs the other end and shoves it into Abyss sending Abyss into the corner. RVD then runs up the ladder and dropkicks Abyss! Abyss falls on top of the ladder and RVD hits a Standing Moonsault onto Abyss on top of the ladder! RVD tosses the ladder into the corner and then goes for a Monkey Flip on Abyss but Abyss blocks it and then Powerbombs RVD! Abyss grabs the ladder and sets it up in the center of the ring. Abyss climbs up the ladder but RVD climbs up the other side and the two exchange right hands. RVD slams Abyss’ head into the ladder. Abyss then grabs RVD and Chokeslams him off the ladder! Abyss too falls off in exhaustion. Abyss goes out to the floor now and pulls out the black bag! Is it glass or thumbtacks? Abyss pours the bag out in the ring and it’s thumbtacks this week! He then further pours it out and it’s also glass! A “holy sh*t” chant erupts now. Abyss grabs RVD and puts him up on the top rope. Abyss climbs up as well and goes for a Superplex onto the glass and tacks but RVD blocks it and nails Abyss with forearm smashes. RVD then hits a Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the top sending Abyss crashing down onto the tacks and glass! That is disgusting. RVD nails Abyss with right hands and then he hits the ropes but eats a Big Boot from Abyss. Abyss goes out to the floor and pulls out a barbed wire board now! Abyss tosses it into the ring and sets it up in the corner. Abyss tries to whip RVD into the board but RVD is able to stop himself. Abyss then charges but RVD sidesteps him and Abyss goes headfirst into the barbed wire board! RVD then springboards off the middle rope with a Back Kick into the board! RVD then hits the Rolling Thunder onto the barbed wire board which is still on top of Abyss! That is nasty. RVD sets the ladder up in the center of the ring and climbs up it. RVD reaches and grabs the board but Abyss pushes the ladder over and RVD goes crashing over the top rope into the ladder that they had set up earlier headfirst! Abyss has cuts all over his arms as RVD looks to be out. The replay shows that RVD actually got his foot caught on the top rope as he was going down as well that made it harder for him to cushion his fall. Terry Taylor and Dixie Carter are shown watching in the crowd. In the ring Abyss climbs up the ladder and pulls down the 2×4! He looks over at Dixie Carter and then climbs down the ladder. Abyss pushes the ladder over as RVD is finally stirring on the outside. Abyss rolls RVD back into the ring and nails RVD with right hands. Abyss picks Janice back up and points at RVD. He swings it at Van Dam but Van Dam moves out of the way. The 2×4 gets stuck on the top turnbuckle. RVD goes to the outside and gets a chair as Abyss tries to get Janice unstuck. RVD nails Abyss in the back with the chair and then tosses Abyss the chair and hits the Van Daminator! RVD picks up the barbed wire table and puts it over Abyss in the corner. RVD then goes to the opposite side with the chair and climbs to the top! RVD hits the Van-Terminator! Holy sh*t, how many years has it been since we’ve seen that?! That was nasty! RVD climbs up top and hits the 5-Star Frog Splash! 1…2…3 and RVD retains the title!

Winner & STILL TNA World Champ: RVD via pinfall (5 Star Frog Splash)

After the match Tenay and Taz put over the show and say that Hulk Hogan still has a special surprise and then they hype up the premier of Reaction right after Impact. In the ring RVD climbs up the ladder and celebrates with the World Title. Hulk Hogan’s music hits and the Hulkster walks down to the ring.

——————COMMERCIAL BREAK——————–

Back from commercials Hulk Hogan is in the ring with RVD and he says everybody in TNA’s world knows why RVD is their leader. Hogan says he’s been around the block a couple of times and he’s wrestled them big and small but he’s never seen an athlete like RVD. Hogan puts over the match with Sabu from Hardcore Justice as well and then calls TNA the #1 wrestling company in the business today. Hogan says Hardcore Justice raised the bar and he says he has to thank Dixie Carter for taking him somewhere he’s never been before at Hardcore Justice. He puts over the ECW guys including Sabu and says they taught him what hardcore was about and his respect for those guys went through the roof. A “we want Sabu” chant starts and then Hogan says they’ve invited RVD’s ECW friends and they actually just got to sit in the back and watch RVD’s performance. He then invites the EV2 guys out there and Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards, The F.B.I. (Tony Mamaluke & Little Guido), Team 3D, Rhino, Mick Foley, and even Sabu and Bill Alfonso make their way out to the ring! They each hug RVD as they get into the ring. No Kid Kash sighting though. Hogan says when he came to TNA he was looking for a ‘higher ground’ and he says Tommy Dreamer and his “band of misfits” did that. He says he’s giving them his ring right now with nothing but the most respect. Hogan hands Dreamer the microphone and leaves the ring. Dreamer says Sunday they raised the bar and tonight the Machine Guns, Beer Money, RVD, and Abyss raised the bar even more tonight. Dreamer is sporting a black eye. Dreamer thanks Dixie again and then he thanks the ECW guys again and says it was an honor to bleed and sweat with each one of them one last time. Dreamer then thanks the fans and says without the fans they couldn’t have done it and says he loves the fans. The lights then go out and Taz & Tenay think it’s going to be Sandman.

The lights come on and Mick Foley is laid out in the ring and Fourtune, Douglas Williams, and Matt Morgan are standing behind EV2 with weapons! Dreamer turns around and AJ Styles blasts him with a cane! The rest of the heels nail the EV2 guys with their weapons as well! There are going to town on EV2 right now! Raven runs down to the ring but Storm blasts him with a beer bottle! Now The Sandman walks down through the crowd as Storm cuts Raven open with a piece of the beer bottle! Morgan is choking Sabu with a chain as well and screams “this is my company!” Sandman climbs over the uardrail with a cane but Williams blasts him with one of his own and stomps him out! Tony Mamaluke is cut open in the ring as well! Abyss runs down to the ring and pulls RVD out and starts beating on him as well! Abyss tosses RVD into the crowd and beats him to the back. AJ nails Brother Ray with a trashcan lid repeatedly and then he dropkicks it into his face. Ric Flair walks down smiling as the Fourtune guys continue to destroy EV2. All of them are beaten a bloody. The camera cuts to the back where RVD looks like he’s been slaughtered with blood everywhere. The camera pans up and Abyss is standing over him holding Janice and screaming. RVD’s tights are even cut up.

Back to ringside Ric Flair screams at Dixie Carter that this is her fault and she brought this on herself. In the ring Fourtune is even beating on security. Wow. The rest of the beatdown is shown on Reaction.

Final Thoughts

Holy cow what a night! TNA lived up to that “Total Nonstop Action” name tonight! This was, in my opinion, the absolute best episode of Impact ever. Everything was just flat out fun and entertaining tonight. It really did play out like a PPV, and a good PPV at that. Kudos to SpikeTV for not interrupting every match with countless commercial breaks. Only the final two matches (which were the longest matches) had commercial breaks during the matches and both only one a piece. And also the crowd was by far the best we’ve seen all year at an Impact taping.

The opener was the perfect way to kick off the match. The fans got into it earlier and both Angle and AJ busted their a**es. They put on one hell of a match which they always do and the finish was unique and very good as well. ***1/2

The Knockouts Match was solid as well, probably one of the better knockouts matchces we’ve have in awhile. The Beautiful People stuff is coming to a head as well. **

The 3-Way was way too short but fun as well. They had some cool spots and worked well together. Just don’t like that Pope had to take the fall. **

The Open Challenge was surprisingly very good. They didn’t over hype this as being something big so it shouldn’t be a huge disappointment that it wasn’t a surprise wrestler. Great match and Shannon Moore looked like a million bucks. ***

Wow, is about all you can say about the tag team match. That match was absolutely incredible and my Match of the Year so far this year. Those two teams have absolutely raised the bar every single week and are showing everyone what great tag team wrestling can look like again. The crowd was hot, the guys busted their a**es, and had an absolutely fantastic match. We need more. *****

The Main Event was a great, fun garbage style match. RVD put on another great match stemming from his awesome match with Sabu from Sunday (where Sabu didn’t botch a single move). I’m going to rant about RVD next week but I’ll just save it but this was an a great match with Abyss taking his usual sickening bumps. Great balance no this show going from the great wrestling in the Semi-Main and then going to some great hardcore wrestling in the Main Event. ****

The beatdown of EV2 was absolutely awesome and extremely violent (to the point where Pepa of Salt ‘n’ Pepa supposedly walked out of it, as she was in attendance). They killed those guys.
