Roy’s thoughts: Savage got absolutely beat up in this match but won with two moves. Still, the ovation he got from the crowd, wrestling was different. Fans used to cheer for the smallest things which made it all more enjoyable as a fan watching.
Kurasawa is on the outside with Colonel Parker and we see a replay of the elbow drop.
We cut to the ring announce team as Eric Bischoff mentions that Hulk Hogan, The Giant and The Dungeon of Doom are in the arena. They run through the card as the lights go out.
We hear someone yelling on the screen, sitting on some sort of throne, yelling at Sullivan. He telling him “Sullivan, my son, the insurance package has been delivered.” He tells him the eyes of the demon will come for Hulk Hogan at Halloween Havoc. We see something that looks like an ice berg.
The camera cuts and it goes to Gene Okerlund. He is standing with The Giant and Kevin Sullivan. Okerlund asks him what the meaning of that man being there is and he asks him about the iceberg. Sullivan says that is their insurance policy. His father went to go get it and bring it back. They thought that Hogan surrendered the colors of yellow and red but now he wears black because he walks in darkness.
Sullivan says evil does dwell in Hogan’s heart and he thinks there is no goodness left. The fans chant “Hogan” and Sullivan says that is the insurance that The Giant needs. The Giant tells Hogan that he is running out of lives. At Halloween Havoc, he will take his last life and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Sullivan says he is ready and this has to be stopped.
Roy’s thoughts: This was one of those what were they thinking. I know it was for Halloween Havoc and the Dungeon of Doom but this entire thing, I didn’t like.
-Commercial Break-
Hulk Hogan’s music hits and out he comes wearing black with Jimmy Hart. He is on the ramp and in comes Okerlund. Hogan tells him he knows it’s the 11th hour and a lot of people think that Hulk Hogan is boxed in. But even though he walks in the valley of the Dungeon of Doom, he fears no evil because the only evil to fear is evil itself.
Hogan says he fears no man because on his back, he carries all of the little Hulkamaniacs who believe in the prayers, training and vitamins. His concerns have been about what to do with the black gloves, black bandana and The Giant. He says after Halloween Havoc, he might just hang on to the black gloves because everyone knows what someone with black gloves and a black bandana is capable of doing.
He says that is why he won’t lick his wounds, he is going to get a big bad Harley and he will drag The Giant around. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, in the Hulkster they’ll still trust.
Okerlund mentions Sting, Macho Man and Lex Luger. Hogan says Sting has his red and yellow on. He says they were waiting to pick his bones but they better get in line and decide who’s got the biggest bark because the big dark, the bad guy Hulk Hogan is going to be waiting on them. He says he will beat them all one at a time. He asks them what they are going to do when the man in black destroys them. Hogan’s music hits as he flexes his muscles.
Roy’s thoughts: Hogan had a bit of a heel promo at the end. Talking about the Giant was good but the Sting, Macho Man and Luger part felt like bad guy Hogan. I am intrigued by the entire monster truck thing though.
