Punishment Martinez wins the ROH TV Title at State of the Art event in Dallas on Saturday

Punishment Martinez

Saturday night at Ring of Honor’s State of the Art event in Dallas, TX the ROH TV title changed hands as Punishment Martinez defeated Silas Young to become the company’s 20th television champion.  This is the first title reign in ROH for Martinez.

The event that aired live on the company’s Honor Club Streaming service was headlined by an instant reward proving ground match between Silas Young, Adam “Hangman” Page, Jonathan Gresham, Scorpio Sky and Cheeseburger with the stipulation that if Young didn’t win the match, the winner would be given an immediate title shot.  Martinez defeated Young with the South of Heaven chokeslam.

Adam Page and Punishment Martinez have been working in a program together and have a match at the company’s Best in the World pay-per view on June 29 which will emanate from the UMBC Event Center on the University of Maryland Campus in Baltimore, MD.  Ring of Honor has not yet announced if Martinez will defend the title against Page at the event.

Martinez posted a picture to his Twitter of himself backstage holding the ROH TV belt which can be seen below:
