Former ECW personality Lou D’Angeli stated on Twitter recently that Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins was in Nashville last week at the TNA offices. D’Angeli stated that Corgan was believed to be “pretty serious” about the negotiations to either buy into or buy a majority stake in TNA. Corgan is a big pro wrestling fan and currently owns the Resistance Pro Wrestling independent promotion based out of Chicago.
Panda Energy executive Janice Carter sent out a memo to TNA staff this past Friday stating that any rumors the company was for sale were false and that they remain committed to the company going forward.
Yes! From what I understand @billy is in negotiations to buy @IMPACTWRESTLING! I don’t know anything else but he was in Nashville last week!

Is @billy set on buying @IMPACTWRESTLING??? I know he is pretty serious in at least partial, if not, majority ownership. #TNA
