WrestleView.com staff and readers

Hello once again, class! Long Time, No See! I hope you enjoyed your previous week.

Well, it is that time once again for another exciting predictions column, students. This time, it is for TNA’s No Surrender. Currently, there are eight matches on the card and while some might be predictable, other may not be as predictable as thought. We will see the TNA PPV debut of ?The Boss/God of Thunder/Apparently the man that likes to point at people? Bobby Lashley. Also, we will predict a women’s tag match in which we don?t know who will team up with one of the teams (since Angelina Love is gone) and a man battling for a women’s title.

We have a $50,000 bounty, a lethal lockdown 4-team tag match, and more. So, who will be the winners and losers of this pay per view? Well, leave it to the Faculty to help you with your prediction needs.

Currently, Baiamonte Casa’s own Joe Baiamonte continues his dominance since day one. Since we started this in January, he has been the front runner for all but 2 weeks (once he was in 2nd and once he tied). Unless something really happens, I do expect Joe to continue his long reign as ?Dean? of WrestleView.com.

So, will any of the other Faculty members cut a portion of Dean Baiamonte’s lead? Will Mr. V find a way to stay over .500? Finally, will the WrestleView students claim another victim or two? All those questions will be answered in this weekend’s edition of Predictions From The Faculty.

Before we present out picks, as usual, here are the current rankings as of the previous PPV, Breaking Point. The Breaking Point predictions are in parentheses.

1) Joe Baiamonte (Baiamonte’s Casa)?????????……..76-47 (4-3)
2) Josh Boutwell (Viva La Raza and TNA Recapper)…???71-52 (4-3)
3) Jose Marrero (Wrestling Rumblings)?????????..??69-54 (3-4)
4) WrestleView Students (The Loyal Readers)???????.69-54 (4-3)
5) David Stephens (That’s a Wrap and ECW Recapper)??68-55 (3-4)
6) Josh Piedra (The Shoot)???????????????????62-41 (5-2)
7) Matt O?Brien (Notes From The Nosebleeds)???????.62-46 (4-3)
8) Anthony Valvo (From the Desk of Mr. V)?????????62-61 (3-4)
9) Mike Siciliano (Pro’s From the Palace)???????………57-40 (3-4)**
10) Phil Chroniger (On Second Thought..)??????????..54-50 (—)
11) Doug Lackey (Reality From Ringside)???????????.46-42 (5-2)
12) Sean Hurley (The Sharpshooter)??????????????.45-31 (5-2)
13) Chris Kelly (King of All Wrestling Media)?????????..43-30 (3-4)
14) Mike Tedesco (Smackdown and Superstars Recapper)?.24-14 (3-4)
15) Mike Klubnik (Stylin? and Profilin?)?????????????..14-12 (—)
16) Ryan Droste (Ask WV)?????????????????????.4-4 (—)

Professor Siciliano has his detailed predictions in ?Pro’s From the Palace #341. Please check this edition out. It is a great read from, in my opinion, a well-respected columnist.

Absent from No Surrender are the following: Matt O?Brien, Phil Chroniger, Mike Tedesco, Mike Klubnik, and Ryan Droste.

Now, please enter the Faculty Lounge and keep your eyes on the screen. Here are the predictions from the WrestleView Faculty.

NON-TITLE MATCHES

Bobby Lashley vs. Rhino

Joe B. – Lashley ain’t losing his first match in TNA. BIG BOB takes it.

Josh B. – LASHLEY.

Jose M. – It’s his debut here and I predict LASHLEY goes over here. Don’t be surprised if to play up his MMA gimmick he actually knocks out Rhino.

David S. – BOBBY LASHLEY.

Josh P. – As good as Rhino’s promo was back on iMPACT!, there’s no way that TNA will let Lashley lose. BOBBY LASHLEY.

Anthony V. – If Lashley is undefeated in MMA do you THINK that TNA would be stupid enough to make him lose his first PPV match? I don?t think they can even mess this up. LASHLEY wins this in a quick one.

Mike S. – LASHLEY over Rhino.

Doug L. – LASHLEY via no-brainer. ‘Nuff said.

Sean H. – LASHLEY.

Chris K. – BOBBY LASHLEY.

Consensus: I can?t cue up Mr. McMahon’s theme music, as that is a WWE theme. Though Rhino is labeled ?The War Machine?, he will be no match for Bobby Lashley.

Final Vote: BOBBY LASHLEY 10; Rhino 0.

Lethal Lockdown Fatal 4-Team Tag Match
Team 3D vs. Beer Money, Inc. vs. Booker T/ Scott Steiner vs. The British Invasion

**Mr. V was a bit confused about this match on the card, as I saw both scenarios on a lot of websites. So if they are reading this and got the four way and picked say Beer Money, then the team of 3D/Beer Money are the winners and you will receive the win. A couple of us did use the team format and I will use them if need be.**

Joe B. – Is there not a Tag Title involved in this mess? I’ll take BRITISH INVASION out of sheer patriotism.

Josh B. – BEER MONEY.

Jose M. – I think TEAM 3D and BEER MONEY will go over here simply because the Main Event Mafia has to look weak sometime.

David S. – BOOKER T/SCOTT STEINER.

Josh P. – Talk about shooting fish in a barrel. British Invasion has the belts, Booker T/Steiner have the mafia, Beer Money is everyone’s favorite… Team 3D is… well.. Team 3…D…. yeah. For someone who hasn’t watched TNA, this is a hard pick that will probably ruin a perfect score but I’m going to go with BEER MONEY, INC. AND TEAM 3D.

Anthony V. – Wow, this one is a little bit difficult. I originally was going to pick Beer Money since I think the MEM and the Invasion will not co-exist. So with that being stated, I am going to go with the team of BEER MONEY AND TEAM 3D.

Mike S. – TEAM 3D AND BEER MONEY WIN LETHAL LOCKDOWN over The British Invasion and The Main Event Mafia.

Doug L. – THE BRITS via… I’m sure there’s a point to this match somewhere…

Sean H. – I’ll never pick Beer Money for anything because their name is ridiculous. In that case, I’ll pick BOOKER T/SCOTT STIENER.

Chris K. – BRITISH INVASION.

Consensus: I am not really going to do a consensus on this one, as different rules apply to this contest. Is it just me, or does TNA always find a way to mess with our heads? To make it interesting, we are split on the final outcome. Five faculty members are going with the good guys, and five members are going with the bad guys.

Final Vote: Good Guys 5, Bad Guys 5.

Hernandez vs. Eric Young

Joe B. – Erm?HERNANDEZ?

Josh B. – HERNANDEZ.

Jose M. – I think this is going to play itself out a big over time and that can’t happen if Hernandez just goes over Eric Young here. I can see a DQ win for Hernandez but I am going to take a chance and pick ERIC YOUNG to get the win.

David S. – HERNANDEZ.

Josh P. – The world elite are on Young’s side… especially with Homicide now with them. I have a feeling there may be a swerve here with Homicide. While the numbers game suggests Eric Young, I’m going to go with HERNANDEZ on gut feeling.

Anthony V. – I want to pick the Super Mex here, but then I can see Homicide interfering and helping Eric Young out. I believe in the old saying ?always go with your first instinct?. So though I smell interference I will say HERNANDEZ still pulls out the win over Eric.

Mike S. – HERNANDEZ over Eric Young.

Doug L. – YOUNG via tingling sensation of interference from all sides of the hexagon…

Sean H. – ERIC YOUNG.

Chris K. – ERIC YOUNG.

Consensus: This was a very close decision by our staff. The professors near the top of the standings are going with Hernandez while the professors ranked lower are going with the leader of World Elite. It should be an interesting contest, but by a small margin The Faculty is going with HERNANDEZ winning this one.

Final Vote: HERNANDEZ 6; Eric Young 4

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES

**For the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championship**
The winners will be the charter members of the titles.
Beautiful People (sans Angelina Love) vs. Taylor Wilde and Sarita

Joe B. – I’ll take THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.

Josh B. – SARITA/TAYLOR WILDE.

Jose M. – This is a really hard match to call. The original plans for this match had The Beautiful People winning but of course that was before the Angelina situation. I have heard rumblings that there is no new person coming into TNA and it might be Madison Rayne who takes Angelina’s place and if that was the case Sarita and Taylor Wilde would go over. However I have heard since before this situation occurred that TNA was interested in acquiring Candace Michelle. So assuming I get the permission to do so I will take the Beautiful People if Candace Michelle is the mystery partner and Sarita and Taylor Wilde if she it’s anyone else. **Since this is difficult, Mr. V will award Jose a win for the B.P. if Candice is in fact the partner. However if it is anyone else, I will have Sartia/Wilde as the winner for Jose**.

David S. – SARITA/TAYLOR WILDE.

Josh P. – Don’t care… but SARITA/WILDE I?m guessing… meh… this card is going to ruin my predictions.

Anthony V. – Ok, so I see that Madison Rayne made amends with The Beautiful Ones. Stat: In 2009, Madison Rayne has not won a televised match in TNA (0-16). If she is the partner (and that is what I expect), I am easily giving this match to THE WILDE SARITA.

Mike S. – SARITA/WILDE over The Beautiful Person.

Doug L. – SARITA/WILDE via why the hell not… TNA’s in limbo with The Beautiful One.

Sean H. – THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.

Chris K. – SARITA/TAYLOR WILDE.

Consensus: This is a pretty tough pick because we don?t know what will happen with The Beautiful People since Angelina Love has been released. Will Madison Rayne take her spot, or maybe even Candice Michelle? No matter who is the other ?beautiful person?, The Faculty in a large margin will go with TAYLOR WILDE AND SARITA and the first knockout tag team champions.

Final Vote: SARITA/WILDE 7; Beautiful People 2. One will be finalized once the match begins.

**For the TNA Knockout’s Championship**
The title is vacant. The winner is crowned the champion.
ODB vs. Cody Deaner

Joe B. – ODB. The Title needs to go slutty.

Josh B. – ODB.

Jose M. – ODB. The Cody Deaner experiment needs to be pulled.

David S. – ODB.

Josh P. – If they pull a Harvey Whippleman…. ugh… why oh why oh why do I think it’s going to happen? This is retarded but CODY DEANER.

Anthony V. – WWE made Santino Miss WrestleMania. Will TNA counter that and make The Deaner a Knockout Champion? Doubtful. ODB will get her some and win back her title that she deserves.

Mike S. – ODB over Deaner.

Doug L. – CODY via keeping the hilarity on the move. I see Cody keeping this title for a little while… at least until the next PPV when he faces Kong.

Sean H. – CODY.

Chris K. – ODB.

Consensus: Now I know some WNL members would love to see The Deaner be the King of the Knockouts, but does the WrestleView Faculty agree? Sadly, we do not. We don?t know if it will be entertaining, but we will go with ODB capturing the vacant Knockout’s Championship.

Final Vote: ODB 7; Cody Deaner 3.

**For the TNA Legend’s Championship**
If Abyss wins, he receives the Legend’s Championship. If Kevin Nash wins, he gets a cool $50,000 from Dr. Stevie.
Kevin Nash (c) vs. Abyss

Joe B. – Does Abyss’s character even have 50 grand to give? NASH takes this one.

Josh B. – NASH.

Jose M. – I think its obvious to anyone with eyes that TNA is building up to an Abyss vs. Mick Foley showdown and I think that build will continue with a Mick Foley assisted KEVIN NASH victory.

David S. – KEVIN NASH.

Josh P. – Why oh why oh why is this match even happening!? In the real world, Abyss would kill Nash and retire him physically, but Nash has the mafia on his side… Abyss as Legends Champion just doesn’t fit either… sad as it sounds, I can see Nash taking this. KEVIN NASH.

Anthony V. – This is primed to be a real stinker. The fans don?t win this one at all. Detention for all those who pay for a PPV to see these two wrestle as your selling point. Since I have to make a pick, I am going with ABYSS??by DQ. Therefore, Stevie does not lose money and Nash does not lose his title.

Mike S. – NASH over Abyss thanks to the help of Mick Foley.

Doug L. – NASH via he only does it for the money and he’ll use the cash towards his contest in searching for a valet.

Sean H. – Who cares? NASH because he’s a loser.

Chris K. – ABYSS.

Consensus: Most of us really think that this match will be the worst on the card. Poor Abyss?Kevin Nash is in no shape to wrestle but continues to do so for whatever reason. Will Abyss end Nash’s undeserving title reign? Or will Nash steal more money from someone else’s pockets? The Faculty overwhelmingly choose KEVIN NASH as the champion in this one (as well as money that most of us dream to see one day).

Final Vote: KEVIN NASH 8; Abyss 2.

**For the TNA X Division Championship**
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Daniels

Joe B. – SAMOA JOE.

Josh B. – JOE.

Jose M. – SAMOA JOE over Daniels in what I expect to be a terrific match.

David S. – SAMOA JOE.

Josh P. – JOE.. ’nuff said.

Anthony V. – We have a person who punishes himself with alcohol vs. a person who punishes Grand Slams at Denny’s. I think Daniels? recent DUI is going to hurt him here (because his name is not Kurt Angle). SAMOA JOE continues his reign as the Champion of X.

Mike S. – JOE over Daniels.

Doug L. – JOE via no reason in particular. I still have no idea what they’re doing with him or what they plan on doing with Daniels after this match even if he DID win the title.

Sean H. – SLOPPY JOE.

Chris K. – JOE.

Consensus: I am very surprised with the overall vote in this contest. However for the second time in this edition of our predictions, we chose the same wrestler to win a match. The Faculty easily predicts that SAMOA/SOFA/SLOPPY/______ JOE will successfully defend the X Division Championship.

Final Vote: SAMOA JOE 10; Daniels 0.

**For the TNA World Heavyweight Championship**
Kurt Angle (c) vs. Matt Morgan vs. AJ Styles vs. Sting

Joe B. – Don’t know and don’t care but I’ve a feeling ANGLE retains here.

Josh B. – AJ.

Jose M. – AJ STYLES to set up himself vs. Sting at Bound for Glory.

David S. – KURT ANGLE.

Josh P. – Will Angle retain? Hard to say. Sting is out… I see him getting a shot at Bound for Glory over the winner of this match. Matt Morgan isn’t ready… I’m going to go with TNA’s original Grand Slam Winner… AJ STYLES

Anthony V. – Matt Morgan is not ready for the title, not for a while right now. Sting is counting down the days until he is done, so he is out of the equation. That leaves the present champ vs. future champ. Again, I want to pick Mr. Styles. However, I stated in my bold predictions in the Mid-Year column that KURT ANGLE will keep the TNA World Title until 2010. Since my British Friends are picking British wrestlers, I will pick a Pittsburgh wrestler since I am from the Steel City.

Mike S. – AJ STYLES wins the world title.

Doug L. – STYLES via the inevitable… AJ gets the strap; Sting asks for a title shot, if he is unsuccessful, he retires. ‘Nuff said.

Sean H. – KURT ANGLE because he wins everything.

Chris K. – AJ STYLES.

Consensus: So much for Sting or Matt Morgan taking Kurt’s TNA Championship away from him. Though Kurt Angle got a few votes from the professors this weekend, the vast majority of the staff predicts a NEW TNA World Heavyweight Champion!! His name? THE PHOENOMENAL AJ STYLES!! (Mr. V Note: I am still surprised that he has yet held the TNA World Title since they broke away with the NWA Title).

Final Vote: AJ STYLES 7; Kurt Angle 3; Sting and Matt Morgan 0.
