TNA announced on Friday afternoon that Billy Corgan, who has been working behind the scenes with TNA the last 16 months as a senior producer, has been named the new President of TNA Wrestling and Impact Wrestling.
Dixie Carter, who had held the title of President since 2002, will now become the Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of TNA going forward. The article now lists IMPACT Ventures as the official parent company of TNA Wrestling and Impact Wrestling.
It was revealed a little over a year ago that Panda Energy, the former financial backer of TNA, was no longer affiliated with the company. Corgan will assume day-to-day operations, while Carter focuses “on long-term planning, strategic partnerships and global growth.”
The announcement featured comments from both Corgan and Carter.
Here is a part of what Corgan had to say.
“I believe in this company, its passionate fans, the talented roster and the dedicated staff and crew. I am committed to this great opportunity and will use all of my resources and connections to drive the success of this company. This year we have made significant strides in establishing a strong foundation for our future and will be aggressive in continuing to evolve and grow the IMPACT brands.”
