According to multiple wrestling media sources, TNA Wrestling has officially cut creative member Dutch Mantel and road agent Savio Vega. Additional cuts in TNA are also said to be coming as well so these could be the first of many in the next few weeks.
Both Mantel and Vega were considered among the “Jeff Jarrett allies” group in TNA and these releases have already been described as sign of Jarrett’s slowly weakened influence on the creative team within TNA and even a sign that decisions like this can be made without him.
Of the two, Mantel is considered to be a pretty major release as he has been part of TNA’s creative team since 2003 and was working with Vince Russo on the writing team. Mantel also worked as a road agent at house show events in addition to his role as writer. Vega was working as a road agent for TNA and had worked with Mantel for many years in Puerto Rico.
