Impact Wrestling opens up with the Intro/Narration that TNA totally stole from WWE (sarcasm).

Hulk Hogan’s music hits and the GM makes his way down to the ring. Hogan says last week his life almost imploding in this building. He says that there is no doubt he runs the show in TNA as the GM but he says that he’s a father #1. He says the GM and father collided last week and you’d have to be on another planet to not realize something is going on around here. Hogan says he wants to know what’s going on right now and Bully Ray needs to come down and face him and fess up.

Ray walks down to the ring and Hogan again asks what’s going on. Ray says Hogan hasn’t trusted him from day one, even when he stood by Sting’s side at BFG. He says that he has EARNED Hogan’s trust but he still won’t give it to him. Hogan screams at Ray to “cut the crap” and tell him what’s going on between he and Brooke. Ray asks Hogan if he really wants to know answer to that question and then asks if Hogan really wants to know the answer to the question of who the “#1 man” in Brooke’s life is.

Brooke walks down and gets between them. Hogan asks her what the hell is going on and she says she isn’t 18 anymore, but Hogan says he doesn’t care how old she is and wants to know the truth. She says it’s not what he thinks but Hogan says while he’s still breathing he never wants to see her with another wrestler again especially Bully Ray. Austin Aries appears on the big screen mocking them.

Aries says they’re airing their personal dirty laundry out on TV while there is professional wrestlers in the back waiting to get “managed by the General Manager!” The camera pans back and shows Aries standing on a table with several wrestlers standing around him. Kid Kash, Zema Ion, and Kenny King can be seen. Kash interrupts Aries and says Hogan has the best in the company in there waiting on him and he has better things to do than messing with Aries. Aries stops him and says it’s Hogan’s fault because he’s in the middle of the ring wasting time with his daughter instead of doing his job. Aries lays down on Hogan’s desk and says he isn’t leaving until he does his job. Aries says “man, this thing is uncomfortable how can anyone lay on this? Brooke how do you do it?” Ouch. Hogan is PISSED and leaves the ring to head to the back as a big “Hogan” chant erupts.

The announcers run down the card for tonight and now we find out that the contenders hoping to get a shot at the X-Division Title were those guys in Hogan’s office (Aries, Zema, King, & Kash).

Mickie James and Gail Kim are shown warming up backstage for their match next.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

“Hardcore Country” Mickie James vs. Gail Kim

Last week’s #1 Contenders Battle Royal came down to these two girls with Mickie picking up the win. Mickie and Gail lockup with Gail quickly rolling Mickie up for an early one count. They lockup again and Gail gets Mickie in a waistlock and then punches her in the back. Mickie goes after Gail but she retreats to the ropes to get away from Mickie and then kicks her. Gail gets Mickie in a wristlock but Mickie cartwheels through it only to eat a Backbreaker from Gail. Gail hits Mickie with a series of chops and slaps before tossing her into the corner. Gail hits a Flying Clothesline on Mickie and then a European Uppercut. Gail attempts to whip Mickie into the ropes but Mickie attempts to reverse it only to eat a knee from Gail. Gail then hits the Happy Ending (Straight Jacket Neckbreaker) for a nearfall. Gail slams Mickie’s head into the mat and then puts her in a Headscissors. Gail rolls over holding Mickie’s head up in the hair with her legs and then slams her down to the mat headfirst in kind of a Headscissors Driver. Gail talks trash to Mickie and then covers her for another nearfall until Mickie bridges out of it. Gail grabs Mickie and looks for a Figure Four but Mickie kicks her into the corner and then hits a Flapjack! Mickie climbs up top and dives off but Gail moves out of the way and destroys Mickie with a Running Dropkick! 1…2…NO referee Terrell sees Gail’s feet on the ropes and stops her. Gail goes for Eat Defeat but Mickie blocks it and hangs Gail up in the ropes! Mickie then nails Gail with the Mick Kick! Mickie covers Gail but she had her foot under the bottom rope so Mickie pulls her closer to the center and covers again. 1…2…NO Gail kicks out! Mickie argues with Terrell and then walks into a boot from Gail. Gail swings at Mickie but Mickie blocks it and hits a back elbow followed by the Mickiecanrana out of the corner! Mickie follows up with a series of clotheslines and Forearm Smashes and then a dropkick. Mickie shoves Gail and then hits a Hangwoman’s Neckbreaker! 1…2…NO Gail kicks out! Mickie goes for the Mickie-DT but Gail blocks it sending Gail into the corner. Gail charges at Mickie but Mickie uses the ropes to lift herself up and Gail goes crashing into the turnbuckles. Mickie hits a Tornado Mickie-DT! 1…2…3!

Winner: Mickie James via pinfall (Tornado Mickie-DT)

In the back James Storm says every choice he makes in his life he lives with because he’s a man, but when someone brings his family into it and talks about his daughter that’s when he starts having a problem. AJ Styles walks in and interrupts Storm. AJ says his problem right now is with Storm because he’s whining. AJ asks what he has to be whining about. He says he understands the family thing but he doesn’t get a shot at the World Title for at least a year and THAT is something to whine about and be bitter about. Storm tells AJ to stop looking at the past and look to the future and that’s AJ’s problem. He tells AJ to start focusing on the future tonight because they have a tag team match. He says maybe then AJ can get back on a roll so AJ mockingly says “yeah, yeah alright that’s what I’ll do” and walks away while Storm says he’s just trying to help him.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Hulk Hogan storms into his office and goes right for Aries but he reminds Hogan that he’s the GM. Hogan says he’s also a dad and he tells Aries to sit his ass down. Hogan says Kenny King may be up and coming but he was over there laughing and joking with Aries too so why should he give someone like that a shot at the belt. King says while Hogan was gone this Summer he was making an Impact in TNA and says he lit it up at Destination X. Zema says he’s the “prettiest” X-Division Champion TNA’s ever had and he’s the only one in the room that’s stayed committed to the X-Division. Kash gets in his face and says that he STARTED the X-Division and reminds him that he’s a 2-time champion. Aries says if he’s a 2-time champion then that means he lost it 3-times (how does that math work?) so that means he’s lost it 2 more times than Aries. Hogan eliminates King and Zema tells him to go back to giving lap dances.

Bobby Roode makes his way down to the ring and says last week on Impact he made a statement as footage of his attack on Hardy is shown. Roode says that statement was very clear, in 10 days he will regain his title. Roode says last week was also Open Fight Night and Jeff Hardy got called out by a “nobody” and a “Gut Check rookie.” Roode says he laid out that same rookie with one move and that Hardy was very close to losing to. Roode says Hardy doesn’t impress him and he’s just a paper champion and he’ll prove it at Final Resolution. Roode says if you want to make a name for yourself in TNA you don’t waste your time with Jeff Hardy, you call out the most dominant World Champion in the history of TNA, but before he can say anything else York’s music hits and he walks down to the ring.

Roode tells York to stop and then says he knows that he’s new but this is his time and NOBODY interrupts him. He tells York to take his “Rastafarian” hair cut out of his ring and then gets the taste slapped out of his mouth by York! York screams at Roode to face him and then grabs the microphone and says since he wants someone to call him out, he just did! Roode gets pissed and agrees to it!

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

“The IT Factor” Bobby Roode vs. Christian York

Back from the break the bell rings and they lockup! Roode gets York in a Hammerlock and then slaps him in the back of the head repeatedly before switching to a side headlock. York shoves Roode into the ropes but walks into a shoulder block. Roode hits the ropes but York catches him with a Hip Toss and then a series of shoulder blocks! York covers Roode and gets a one count before Roode rolls out to the floor to get away from the #1 contender! York tries to reach out and grab Roode but he grabs York’s boots and pulls him out to the floor. Roode then slams him into the apron and then screams at York and attempts to toss him into the ring steps. York reverses it sending Roode crashing into the steps! York tosses Roode back into the ring and then climbs up top but Roode shoves the referee into the ropes causing York to crash and burn. Roode jumps on York and puts the boots to him in the corner and chokes him with his boot. Roode slaps York repeatedly while talking trash to him and then whips him into the opposite corner. Roode charges at York but eats a boot and then another one! York charges at Roode but eats a clothesline from the IT Factor! Roode hits a Vertical Suplex and then climbs up top and dives off but York gets his boot up and catches Roode in the face! York lays into Roode with right hands but Roode cuts him off with a kick to the gut. Roode then whips York into the corner but York explodes out with a clothesline! York then hits a Back Elbow and then a dropkick! York whips Roode into the ropes and connects with a Press Slam! York climbs back up top and dives off with a Diving Double Foot Stomp to the back of Roode! York then hits the Dreamscape on Roode in the corner, 1…2…NO Roode kicks out! York goes for the Mood Swing but Roode blocks it and attempts the Payoff. York counters into an inside cradle, 1…2…NO Roode kicks out! Roode tries to leave the ring but York catches his foot and tries to go for a rollup, but Roode holds onto the ropes. The referee tries to separate them which causes York to let go and then Roode levels York with the Northern Lariat (Running Clothesline to the back)! Haven’t seen Roode pull out that one in awhile. Roode then locks in the Crossface! York taps!

Winner: Roode via pinfall (Crossface)

Roode grabs a chair after the match and goes to attack York with it but Hardy runs out and attacks Roode! Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Roode escapes and bails out of the ring as Hardy checks on York.

Footage of the Ace’s & Eight’s attacks from the past few weeks on Sting, Magnus, & EY are shown.

In the clubhouse Ace’s & Eight’s talk about the people they’ve attacked. The VP says next week DOC will go one-on-one with Kurt Angle but then Devon picks up a hammer and says that he wants what was stolen from him, his TV Title. He says that he was never beaten for it and then he looks into the camera and says that he wants Samoa Joe next week for the title and if Hogan grants that to him then they won’t attack anyone tonight. He says if he doesn’t give it to him then all hell will break loose.

Up next is the Gut Check judges decision on Wes Brisco.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Clips of Brisco’s win over Garett Bischoff are shown. Taz and the other judges talk backstage “last week” about Brisco’s performance. Taz says it means something that someone like Kurt Angle would give his vote of approval means something.

Backstage Bruce Prichard is freaking out about someone not being there but doesn’t say who. Kurt Angle then walks up and talks about Wes deserving a contract but Bruce says he’s already made his decision. D-Lo Brown walks up and he says he’s been calling Al Snow all night but he can’t get a hold of him.

Daniels & Kazarian come down to the ring for their match and Tenay says that Daniels described his new ring jacket to him earlier today. He says that Daniels claims the medals on it signify how much of a ring general he is. Kaz calls the fans “butt nuggets” and then says it’s ironic that AJ & Storm are a tag team because it’s he that is sorry about AJ’s “damn luck” because in 10 days AJ will hear the words that will haunt him for the rest of his miserable redneck life: “Ladies & gentleman, your winner and FOREVER the better man…CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!”

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Bad Influence (“Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) vs. “Cowboy” James Storm & “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles

All 4 guys are former Fortune members and have tagged and feuded with each other numerous times over the past few years. AJ and Kaz start the match off and lockup with Kaz getting AJ in a waistlock and then forcing him into the corner. AJ charges at Kaz but gets caught with a drop toe hold and then Kaz floats over into a front facelock. AJ tries to counter out of it but Kaz holds onto it and then transitions into a side headlock. AJ gets up to his feet and shoves Kaz into the ropes and then leapfrogs him and goes for the Phenomenal Dropkick, but Kaz ducks it and then mocks AJ. Storm tags himself in and lays into Kaz with a series of right hands. Storm hits a facebuster on Kaz followed by a Neckbreaker but Kaz tags in Daniels. Storm tosses Daniels into a corner and then backdrops him! Storm tags AJ back in and they whip Daniels into the ropes and then AJ looks like he wants to do a Double Hip Toss but Storm hits Daniels with a Back Elbow thinking that’s what they were going to do. AJ and Storm shrug it off as Taz talks about the lack of chemistry between AJ and Storm. AJ hits a Scoop Slam on Daniels and then goes for a Knee Drop, but Daniels moves and throws AJ into the heel corner. Kaz tags in and then they whip AJ into the ropes and Kaz leapfrogs AJ and Daniels nails him with a clothesline. Daniels then Hip Tossses Kaz into a Somersault Leg Drop on AJ and then Kaz sends AJ flying across the ring with a Running Dropkick! Storm tags back in and goes for a clothesline, but Kaz ducks only to eat a Flying Forearm from Storm! Storm then hits a clothesline and then an Atomic Drop followed by a big Uppercut! Storm knocks Daniels off the apron and then hits Kaz with an Enziguri! Storm goes for the Backstabber but Kaz grabs Daniel’s hands to hold him up and block the move! Kaz then hits a Springboard Guillotine Leg Drop on Storm and then puts the boots to him. Daniels tags back in and puts the boots to Storm as Tenay says that Daniels told him today that he and Kaz want to be known as BAD INFLUENCE going forward (so I go that one right). Kaz chokes Storm in the corner and then Daniels headbutts him. Daniels hits a Scoop Slam and then tags Kaz back in. Daniels hits a Slingshot Elbow Drop and then Kaz hits a Slingshot Leg Drop, 1…2…NO Storm kicks out! Kaz puts Storm in a headlock but Storm fights back up to his feet and slams Kaz into the corner. Storm hits an uppercut and then attempts to whip him into the opposite corner but Kaz reverses it. Daniels then clotheslines Storm from the apron and then tosses Storm into the ropes as Kaz nails him with a Back Heel Kick! 1…2…NO Storm kicks out! Daniels tags back in and Bad Influence whip Storm into the heel corner and then Daniels hits a Forearm Smash followed by the Gangnam Style dance. Bad Influence charge at Storm in the corner together but Storm is able to move out of the way and then tag AJ back in! AJ ducks a clothesline from Daniels and then lays Kaz out with a Back Elbow followed by one for Daniels! AJ clotheslines Kaz and then hits Daniels with a Spinning Heel Kick! AJ then grabs Kaz and hits a Back Suplex into a Facebuster! AJ grabs Daniels and hit’s the Vertical Suplex into the Neckbreaker! AJ charges at Daniels in the corner but Daniels backdrops him over the top! AJ lands on the apron and hits Daniels with a forearm and then hits the Springboard Flying Forearm! AJ sees Kaz on the outside and goes for the Slingshot Plancha but Kaz moves out of the way and AJ crash and burns! Kaz puts the boots to AJ and then back in the ring Kaz knocks Storm off the apron. Bad Influence whips AJ into the ropes and flip AJ into both of their arms and then connect with a VICIOUS double team move that sees Daniels lift AJ up in a Powerbomb and Kaz catch him with a Neckbreaker at the same time! 1…2…NO AJ kicks out! Daniels and Kaz freak out at the referee and then grab AJ and set up for the High/Low, but AJ kicks Daniels and then Storm pulls Kaz out to the floor and tosses him into the steps! AJ attempts to whip Daniels into the ropes but Daniels reverses it which actually allows Storm to blind tag himself in! AJ ducks a clothesline and then goes for the Pele but Daniels sidesteps it! Daniels sets up for the Angels Wings but Storm DESTROYS him with the Last Call! 1…2…3!

Winners: AJ & Storm via pinfall (Last Call)

AJ looks pissed that Storm got the pinfall and actually refuses to let Storm raise his hand and leaves the ring.

The announcement for the location of Lockdown 2013 is made and it will take place at the historic Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX! This will be TNA’s debut in San Antonio.

Kash, Aries, and Zema walk into Hogan’s office and Hogan tells them he needs someone to stir it up in the RING tonight. Kash says he’s one of the toughest son of a bitches in TNA and he’s wrestled RVD all over the world. He says that he’s been the champion twice and he deserves this shot more than anyone else to get another shot. Aries mocks Kash & Zema and says if he wants someone to stir it up then he’s the best “stick” to stir the drink. Hogan says the only person that hates Aries more than him is RVD so Aries gets the shot tonight. Aries asks why RVD hates him and Kash lets Hogan know what he thinks about it by saying he’s getting sick and tired of things in TNA.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Samoa Joe says that he’s heard Devon’s challenge but he finds it funny for someone with a name like “Sergeant at Arms” all he hears is words with no action. Joe admits that Devon wasn’t beaten for the belt but he abandoned it and he couldn’t hack it as champion so he stepped in and took over. Joe says it wasn’t stolen from him but next week he can try and come back to get it. Joe promises he will be “beaten.”

Doug Williams comes down to the ring and then Joey Ryan comes out and introduces Matt Morgan. Ryan humorously says “wassup Todd” to Keneley (if you hadn’t noticed Taz and Tenay have been making fun of Keneley for weeks about having a “man crush” on Ryan).

Douglas Williams vs. “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan

Morgan is still wearing Hogan’s robe from Shea Stadium. Williams hits Morgan with a series of forearms but everytime he does Morgan just shoves him away. Morgan nails Williams with a big clothesline and then lays into him with a big Back Elbow in the corner. Morgan chokes Williams in the corner and then headbutts him. Morgan whips Williams into the opposite corner and then drops him with a Sidewalk Slam. Morgan tosses Williams into the corner and charges but Williams gets his boots up. Williams climbs up top and dives off but Morgan catches him with a Chokeslam. Morgan then hits the Carbon Footprint and covers Williams for the pin.

Winner: Morgan via pinfall (Carbon Footprint)

In the back D-Lo Brown approaches Bruce Prichard and they still can’t find Snow. D-Lo suggests that he step in for Snow for the Gut Check.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Wes Brisco comes down for the Gut Check and Prichard mentions that Snow is missing right now and D-Lo is going to take his place tonight. Prichard says Brisco’s match last week was not good but he did win. He says if he was judging strictly on his performance his vote would be different but he knows Brisco’s potential so his answer is yes. Taz says Kurt Angle going to bat for him means a lot but he agrees with Prichard about Brisco’s performance so it’s a “no” from him. Brisco says he knows it’s all in D-Lo’s hands right now but when he was a little kid all he ever dreamed about was standing in that ring. He says he’s not just doing it for himself but he’s doing it for his fans and his family and especially his late Uncle Jack Brisco. Wes asks D-Lo to give him a chance to prove himself. D-Lo says what Brisco just said was “powerful” and he’s known his family for a long time. D-Lo says part of him doesn’t know if Wes is ready to be on the roster but if his work is up to par for Prichard & Angle then it is for him as well! Brisco is on the TNA roster. Kurt Angle & Garett Bischoff run down and hug Wes.

Bully Ray approaches Hogan in the back and asks him if Aries offended him, Brooke, & Ray. He says the answer to all those questions is “yes” and if he wanted Aries’ head kicked in why wouldn’t he come to Ray. Ray says that Hogan is confusing business with personal, but Hogan says it’s Ray that’s confusing business with personal around here and walks away.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Jeff Hardy will be on Spike’s Ink Master show next week.

ODB talks about the attack on EY last week. She says he’s still in the hospital and has a broken ankle.

In the back Aries says this has been his plan the whole time and the only reason he wants the X-Division Title back is because it’s his key to getting the World Title back. Hogan says now it’s time to have some serious dental work courtesy of RVD. I have no idea what the other stuff Hogan said was because someone in the production truck botched something and started playing a Final Resolution promo as Hogan was talking.

Main Event
TNA X-Division Championship
“Whole F’N Show” Rob Van Dam (c) vs. “A-Double” Austin Aries

Boxing style intros for this first time ever matchup. Aries and RVD exchange strikes in the center of the ring and then Aries gets RVD in a side headlock, but RVD counters into a top wristlock which he uses to slam Aries to the mat. Aries nips up to his feet and slams RVD down but RVD nips up as well and catches Aries with an armdrag. Both men miss clotheslines but then RVD catches him with a series of kicks and forearms. RVD whips Aries into the ropes and goes for a backdrop but Aries stops and kicks him only for RVD to catch him with a Body Scissors rollup out of nowhere! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out. RVD hits Aries with a Forearm Smash and then tosses him into the corner and hits a series of shoulder blocks followed by another kick. RVD whips Aries into the ropes and goes for a dropkick but Aries holds onto the ropes and then goes to the apron and attempts the Slingshot Somersault Senton. RVD gets his knees up and then sets up for the Rolling Thunder but Aries rolls out to the floor. RVD hits a sliding dropkick to Aries on the outside and then follows up with a Slingshot Plancha onto Aries on the floor!

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Back from the break Aries backdrops RVD over the top. RVD lands on the apron but Aries rolls backwards into a kick that sends RVD crashing to the floor. Aries sets up for the Heat Seeking Missile but RVD leaps up to the apron and completely botches the hell out of the spot. I believe he was supposed to kick Aries as he went for the dive but instead Aries ended up slamming into RVD because RVD was late with his timing. RVD pulls Aries out and hangs him up on the guardrail. RVD then climbs up on the apron and dives off with the Corkscrew Leg Drop but Aries moves and RVD nails the guardrail. Aries then hits a Neckbreaker on RVD onto the railing! Aries drags RVD back into the ring and covers him for a series of nearfalls. Aries tries several different pinning variations but RVD kicks out of them all. Aries then hits a Corkscrew Elbow to the back of RVD for another nearfall. Aries tries to toss RVD into the corner but RVD blocks it with his foot and then slams Aries into the corner and connects with a front kick! RVD goes for a clothesline but Aries ducks and hits a nasty Spike DDT! 1…2…NO RVD kicks out again! Aries hits a modified version of RVD’s Rolling Thunder but again only gets a nearfall. Aries climbs up top and also goes for the 5-Star but RVD rolled out of the way! RVD kicks Aries in the head repeatedly and then connects with a Springboard Flying Back Kick that sends Aries into the corner! RVD hits a series of shoulder blocks and then a Spinning Heel Kick! RVD hits Rolling Thunder and then hits the Split Legged Moonsault! 1…2…NO Aries gets his foot on the bottom rope! RVD goes for a Spinning Heel Kick but Aries ducks it and hits a Rolling Elbow! Aries mocks RVD again and then hits the ropes but RVD lifts him up into the air and connects with a dropkick in midair! RVD springs up to the top but Aries gets back up and shoves RVD off the top to the guardrail! RVD has been taking that bump for years and I still say he is NUTS for doing it, wow. Aries drags RVD back into the ring and then grabs a microphone and talks trash to him saying he crashed and burned and now he’s laying there all sweaty on his back, breathing hard like Brooke Hogan! Bully Ray runs down to the ring and attempts to Powerbomb him but Aries bails! Aries freaks out at him costing Aries the title!

Winner: Aries via DQ (RVD retains)

Hulk Hogan walks out stopping Aries from leaving. Hogan and Ray stare each other down as Aries bails.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Really fun show tonight. I loved the opening with Hogan, Ray, and Aries. All 3 did a really good job and Brooke didn’t do much but getting between Hogan and Ray did the trick while Aries stole the show with his comments. I could have cared less about this angle coming into the show but all of the strong performances has me interested now.

Mickie & Gail put on a good match like they always can if you give them time.

York put another great show tonight and another top star bumped his ass off for him. I love how they’re handling York.

Please, someone make TNA stop with the stupid ass deliberations! Had they just did a 4-Way between those guys, how awesome would it have been? Hell, Bully Ray could have do the run-in during that costing Aries and still had a great X-Division Title match to look forward to. This is wrestling not a damn reality show. I hate it with a passion.

Storm & AJ vs. Bad Influence was great, Kaz & Daniels are just flat out good as a tag team. I mean REALLY good. I like the story they’re telling with AJ too and it looks like we’re headed to Storm and AJ feuding for the first time in a singles feud which should be fun. I’m glad I was right about the Bad Influence name, I like it (not just because it’s a great Eminem song either) and it fits their characters.

I’m 100% sure that Wes Brisco is part of Ace’s & Eight’s now and I think D-Lo is on it as well. It all fits together with Snow being “missing” tonight.

It’s just sad that Doug Williams is a glorified jobber now, actually that is pathetic.

Great Main Event and given more time and a clean finish that could have been really, really good. They did have one bad botch (from RVD) but otherwise great stuff.
