Dynamite opens with Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston heading down to the ring to a thunderous ovation but 2.0 and Daniel Garcia attack them from behind with a pipe. They beat Kinston and Moxley down and then get in the ring and Parker screams that they just took out Sting and Allin’s boys, so now they don’t have anything and they dare Sting and Allin to come out and face them now. Sting comes out and then lights go out and Allin appears in the ring and attacks them with his skateboard.
Texas Tornado Match
Sting & Darby Allin vs. 2.0 w/Daniel Garcia
Sting and Allin hit stereo Stinger Splashes on 2.0 and then their fight spills out into the crowd. The two teams fight near the concession stand and Daniel Garcia helps 2.0 out. Garcia and 2.0 lift Garica up into the air and slam him into an overhang near a wall. 2.0 throws Sting into the opposite wall. 2.0 and Garcia drag Sting down back towards ringside and continue to beat on him as they leave Garcia laid out near concessions.
Allin is shown walking a railing and he dives off it onto 2.0! Kingston appears and attacks Garcia and drags him to the back! Allin pulls out a table and sets it up in the ring. 2.0 attack Sting and Allin’s knees and then throw Allin onto the ramp. Parker grabs Allin’s skateboard and 2.0 Double Suplex Allin onto the wheels of the skateboard.
Sting tries to fight back but 2.0 beats him down again and continue going after his knee as Tony Schiavone points out the serious knee injury Sting had in the early 1990s. 2.0 Double Bombs Sting through a damn table! Sting just shrugs it off and beats his chest and screams! Allin hits a Dropkick knocking 2.0 into a Double Stinger Death Drop! Sting stacks 2.0 on top of each other and puts them in a Double Scorpion Death Lock and they both tap!
Winners: Sting & Allin via submission (Double Scorpion Death Lock)
(Sting blocks my mind every time he gets in the ring. He’s treated like the legend he is in AEW and every time he wrestles it’s made to be a special event, as it should be. I love it and 2.0 bumped their ass off for he and Allin. ***)
Earlier today, Sammy Guevara is shown asking his girlfriend to marry him during the Dark tapings. Backstage, Shawn Spears and Tully Blanchard make fun of Sammy and Shawn says he’ll make Sammy’s girlfriend a member of the Pinnacle for one night only and let her be “on top” for once.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
“The Spanish God” Sammy Guevara vs. “The Chairman of The Pinnacle” Shawn Spears w/Tully Blanchard
Spears tried to attack Guevara as Sammy was walking down the ramp but Sammy saw it coming and knocks Spears off the ramp. Sammy hits a Somersault Plancha off the ramp onto Spears on the floor and then throws him into the ring post. Guevara throws Spears into the barricade and then charges at him but Spears sidesteps him sending Sammy into the ring steps. Spears lifts Sammy up as Tully dives off the ring steps dropping Sammy with a Spike Piledriver!
Spears tosses Sammy in the ring and the match finally officially starts but Sammy immediately rolls back to the floor where Spears goes for another Piledriver, but this time the referee stops Tully and ejects him from ringside. Tully hits the referee with his jacket as Spears lifts Sammy back into the ring and hits a series of Knee Strikes. Sammy again tries to roll out as Spears taunts Sammy’s girlfriend. Sammy catches Spears with a Leaping Enziguri and then goes for the Double Spring Cutter but Spears moves only for Sammy to catch him with a rollup anyway for two.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
During the break, Spears set up a barricade between the apron and barricade. They fight on the top rope after both spring up there at the same time in a cool spot. Spears flips Guevara off and Sammy hits a Super Cutter! 1…2…NO Spears kicks out! Sammy goes for the GTS but Spears cuts it off and climbs back up top only for Sammy to leap up and get caught in a Super C4! 1….2…NO Sammy kicks out!
Spears drags Sammy onto the apron and attempts to C4 Sammy onto the barricade, but Sammy escapes and Superkicks him. Sammy hits his own DVD on Spears onto the barricade, bending it! Sammy rolls Spears in the ring and hits the 630 Splash! 1…2…NO Spears kicks out!
Sammy pulls his knee pad down and hits a series of knee strikes followed by the GTH for the pin!
Winner: Guevara via pinfall (GTH)
(Excellent match and easily Spears’ best singles match in AEW. They both worked their asses off and pulled out some incredible spots. Great stuff. ***1/2)
Backstage, Tony tries to interview Christian Cage but Dan Callis interrupts and talks about being the one to give Christian his first shot in wrestling. Callis says that he’s happy for Christian to get his shot at Omega at All Out but he’s going to be put to sleep with the One Winged Angel but he’ll get that five-star match he’s always wanted. He makes fun of Christian’s age.
Christian says that Don is trying to get in Christian’s head but it’s obvious that he is in Omega’s head and Omega is terrified that Christian will now take the thing he loves the most, the AEW Title. Christian calls Callis a “carnie piece of shit” again and says he always will be.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
A video package highlights the performance that Dante Martin had last week and Martin says that he took Kenny Omega to the limit and his name is one that everyone will know soon.
Dan Lambert is in the ring and cuts a promo about how AEW is on the “cancel culture train” trying to silence him by having Lance Archer attack him last time. He said that they did that knowing that none of his UFC contracted fighters would be able to help him but he says that one phone call to Dana White fixed that. Lambert is in the ring with former UFC Champions Junior dos Santos and Andrei Arlovsky and dares anyone in the AEW to come out and face them.
Lambert cuts a promo on the AEW fans and makes fun of them and says AEW is not the answer for professional wrestling. He says they have a roster full of loudmouth wannabe tough guys that couldn’t wrestle their way out of a paper bag. He says that the fans in AEW are only there because they have nothing else to do other than comme to AEW or sit in their mom’s basement looking up “really creepy shit on the dark web.”
Lance Archer comes down but Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page attack him from behind and beat him down.
Backstage, Chris Jericho says that he has endured everything MJF has thrown at him and he has paid the price for it. He says he survived it all and now he finally gets his prize, one more shot at MJF. He says every drop of blood was worth it and he want need his music or Judas Effect because he has the momentum and the upper hand over MJF and he says the fans will sing him to the ring and MJF can’t stop that. He says he finally gets his revenge and will kick his “bitchy little ass.”
AEW World Tag Team Championships
The Young Bucks (c) w/Don Callis, The Good Brothers & Brandon Cutler vs. The Jurassic Express
Nick Jackson and Jungle Boy start off and both of them show off their athleticism early on countering each other. Nick does a moonsault off the apron and lands on his feet and taunts Jungle Boy as Jungle Boy charged after him. Jungle Boy hits a Slingshot Plancha onto Nick as Nick was taunting him. Jungle Boy hits a series of arm drags and dropkicks in the ring and tags in Luchasaurus.
Luchasaurus beats on Nick in the corner until Nick manages to slide through his legs and tag in Matt. Luchasaurus proceeds to beat Mat down, as well. Lucha deadlifts Matt in the area and hits a Spinning Sidewalk Slam for two. Jungle Boy tags in and hits a Somersault Senton off the shoulders of Lucha for a nearfall.
Nick kicks Jungle Boy from behind and they go for the Melter Driver but Jungle Boy counters and hits a Diving Rana over the ropes on Nick onto the floor! Matt then hits a Flying Dropkick through the ropes on Jungle Boy followed by a Plancha onto Luchasaurus!
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Luchasaurus is on fire as he makes the hot tag and tosses Nick clear across the ring before Press Slamming Matt. Nick goes up top but Lucha kicks his legs out from under him and tags Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy goes up and then stands on Lucha’s shoulders and hits a Super Brainbuster off him! 1…2…NO Nick kicks out! Luchasaurus tags in and goes for a Chokeslam but Cutlers gets on the apron and distracts him. Lucha throws Nick into Cutler and then attempts a Double Chokeslam on the Bucks but the Bucks counter only for Lucha to backflip over a Superkick attempt. Luchasaurus hits a series of Tail Whips and then a Double Piledriver with Jungle Boy! 1…2…NO Matt kicks out as Jungle Boy hits a Tope Suicida on Nick on the outside!
Nick tags in but The Bucks hit them from behind with Double Superkicks. Jungle Boy dives off the back of Lucha right into a Double Superkick! The Bucks hit an Indy Taker on Jungle Boy and Matt falls into a Senton on Lucha at the same time! 1…2…NO Jungle Boy kicks out! Marko Stunt runs down but Kenny Omega hits him from behind with a chair.
The Good Brothers distract the referee as Omega hands the Bucks a chair and Christian runs out and attacks Omega. Jungle Boy hits a Brainbuster on Matt onto the chair! 1…2…NO Nick breaks it up! Lucha tosses Nick to the ramp and they hit the Thurassic Express! 1…2…NO Nick breaks it up again! Jungle Boy knocks GB and Cutler off the apron and Lucha hits a Moonsault onto them on the floor! Jungle Boy hits a Backslide on Matt but Nick breaks it up and they hit the BTE Trigger for the pin!
Winners & STILL Tag Champs: The Young Bucks via pinfall (BTE Trigger)
(Unbelievable tag team match with some incredible nearfalls and double team moves. Jungle Boy has superstar written all over him. ****)
The Elite drags Christian back out to the ring and beat him down. Omega hits the One Winged Angel on Christian.
Tony Schiavone interviews Britt Baker backstage who is with Jamie Hayter and Rebel. She calls Hayter her new “enforcer” and her “problem solver.” She says that Red Velvet played dirty but she also played dumb by asking Statlander to have her back. Hayter says that she and Baker go way back and when her friend asked her to come in and help her sort out all the “silly little girls in the back” the answer was easy. Hayter challenges Red Velvet to face her next week.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
A video package highlights the beef between the Hardy Family Office and Best Friends. Orange Cassidy challenges Matt Hardy to a match and Hardy says that if Cassidy keeps sticking his “lazy nose” in his business he’ll break it.
Paul Wight comes down to the ring and Schiavone thanks Wight for helping his son and he says it felt amazing to get back in the ring. Wight says he has a huge announcement to share but QT Marshall interrupts him with The Factory. Marshall taunts Wight about his age and says that in AEW they don’t say things to amp up the fans just to let them down. Wight dares them to get in the ring with him but Marshall says there is a reason that he was hired as an announcer, not a wrestler.
Wight says Marshall is making things up and now he’s starting to upset him a little bit. Marshall says he knows a lot of important information because of his backstage role in AEW and puts up a photo of Wight’s X-rays of the plate in his hip and then shows a picture of his scar. He says that Wight has had five surgeries in the last 18 months.
Wight asks Marshall if he really thought it was a good idea to show those X-Rays and pictures and asks if Marshall thinks that will limit him. He says that for someone that claims to be in the know, he doesn’t know jack shit. Wight says he had a discussion with Tony Khan last week after he got in the ring and at All Out he’ll be wrestling… against QT Marshall!
Jade Cargill will face Kiera Hogan on Rampage.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Schiavone reveals that The Varsity Blonds, Lucha Brothers, Jurassic Express and Private Party will face off in a mini-tournament with the winners facing The Bucks at All Out in a Steel Cage Match!
Taz welcomes Ricky Starks out and he says that he wants to talk to Cage right now but Will Hobbs is shown standing over a beaten down Cage. Cage fights back, though, and Starks freaks out. Team Taz heads to the back as Schiavone interviews Death Triangle.
PAC says that he told Andrade any place, any time and there is no place better than the same place and same PPV where he obliterated Kenny Omega. PAC says he’s glad that Andrade grew a pair of balls and asks what chance a man like Andrade stands against a bastard like PAC.
Andrade walks up and says that if PAC wants this match then he needs to agree to his conditions. Chavo hands a stack of papers and says those are his conditions. Chavo says that even if Lucha Brothers win the tournament they will never be champions with a boss like PAC.
Thunder Rosa vs. “The Bad Girl” Penelope Ford
This is a matchup between two of the Top 5 in the women’s division as Rosa is ranked No. 2 and Ford is ranked No. 5. Ford pie faces Rosa as they trash talk each other but then eats a dropkick followed by some chops and uppercuts. Rosa throws Ford into the opposite corner and but misses a Flying Elbow. Ford charges at Ford but Rosa moves and stomps Ford down in the ring.
Rosa goes for a Brainbuster but Ford blocks it only for Rosa to dump her over the top onto the apron. Rosa dropkicks Ford off the apron and tries to slam her into the ring post only for Ford to do it instead. Ford then hits a Leaping Cutter on the floor.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Ford counters a Fire Thunder Driver into a rollup for two and then puts Rosa in a Muta Lock. Rosa counters out and comes back with a DVD for two and then goes for the Fire Thunder Driver but Ford counters back into the Muta Lock. Rosa counters out into a Rear Naked Choke and Ford taps.
Winner: Rosa via submission (Rear Naked Choke)
(Okay match that was very clunky early on. **)
Footage of Malakai Black’s run in AEW is shown and Schiavone interviews Arn Anderson and his son. Anderson reveals that his son will face Black and he appreciates him wanting to get revenge for him but he doesn’t want to see him get hurt this early in his career. Brock says he isn’t asking for Arn’ permission.
Miro cuts a promo about killing Fuego del Sol last week and says that Fuego didn’t earn his contract and that will not be forgiven. Miro challenges Eddie Kingston to a match!
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Jon Moxley is pissed off backstage and says that everyone wants to show up in AEW from everywhere and they think it’s easy to run things in there. He makes fun of The Elite and says he would walk through Christian’s ‘should of retired ass’ and anyone else in AEW. He says he waved the flag for AEW through uncertain times and empty buildings and now everyone wants a piece of him. He says he needs to send a message about who is still on top of AEW and if Daniel Garcia wants a taste of the main event he will give him a taste of it this Friday night on Rampage. Moxley says that Garcia needs to ask himself if this is really what he wants before he gets in the ring with him because the doctor at ringside is for his safety but that isn’t of his concern.
Main Event
“The Demo God” Chris Jericho vs. MJF
Jericho is banned from using the Judas Effect and he can’t come to the ring to the song, but the fans sing it as he makes his entrance anyway in an incredible moment. MJF taunts Jericho early on and smacks him repeatedly until Jericho sweeps his legs and goes for the Liontamer, but MJF escapes to the outside. As MJF tries to get back in the ring, Jericho hits a Springboard Dropkick followed by a Slingshot Plancha.
Jericho beats MJF around ringside and tries to throw him into the barricade but MJF reverses it and then grabs the camera and flips the fans off before Jericho punches the camera into MJF’s face. Jericho grabs the camera and tries to hit MJF with it but he rolls back in the ring. Jericho chops away at MJF’s chest but MJF pokes his eyes and throws him into the ring post through the turnbuckles.MJF goes to work on Jericho’s injured arm.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Jericho hits a series of shoulder blocks and then dives off the top with a Flying Axe Handle. Jericho charges at MJF but he catches Jericho’s arm and throws him into the turnbuckles. MJF rips off Jericho’s brace and hits a Ghetto Stomp off the middle rope onto the arm. MJF puts Jericho in an Armbar but Jericho fights him off with a series of forearms with the other arm. MJF pokes Jericho in the eyes but runs into a Shoulder Block and then the Lionsault! 1…2…NO MJF kicks out!
Jericho beats MJF down in the corner and then hits a Corner Clothesline followed by a series of even more clotheslines. Jericho caps off the sequence by lifting MJF up to the top and hits a Frankensteiner! 1…2…NO MJF kicks out and grabs Jericho’s arm in the Salt of the Earth! Jericho rolls through and into the Walls of Jericho!
MJF rolls back over and kicks Jericho in the face with one of his legs. Jericho and MJF trade straight punches until MJF sends Jericho to the outside and slams his arm across the top rope. MJF hits the Heat Seeker as Jericho was caught in the ropes and gets another nearfall. Jericho puts MJF in a Sleeper but MJF low blows Jericho and puts him in a version of the Walls of Jericho. Jericho manages to get to the ropes to break the hold and then reaches down to the floor and grabs his bat as MJF puts his ring on.
The referee catches MJF and takes his ring away allowing Jericho to hit MJF with the bat as she was turned around! Jericho almost went for the Judas Effect but stopped when he realized he can’t allowing MJF to hit one of his own! MJF locks in the Salt of the Earth but Jericho rolls him over into a nearfall only for MJF to roll right back into the armbar and Jericho taps!
Winner: MJF via submission (Salt of the Earth)
(Excellent match with tons of emotion. The obvious ending for the story would be Jericho getting his revenge but I think MJF winning the feud was the right call. ****)
