News and notes on WWE Royal Rumble revenue for St. Louis, Merchandise Sales and Attendance

According to St. Louis NBC Affiliate KSDK, last Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble from The Dome at America’s Center drew millions in revenue.

In addition, Explore St. Louis reports that the WWE Royal Rumble brought in $8.3 million in revenue “supporting the jobs of thousands of hospitality professionals throughout the region.” It was also noted that the Royal Rumble also generated 11,000 hotel room stays in the area.

The Sports Business Journal is reporting that with the sellout crowd of 44,390 for the Royal Rumble, it was the second-most-attended WWE event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, behind last year’s SummerSlam in Last Vegas, Nevada.

The report also noted that WWE set a new record for merchandise sales for a Royal Rumble event, specifically for WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Bad Bunny and the returning Ronda Rousey.
