Sports Illustrated is reporting that multiple sources have said Brandi Rhodes is not expected to join her husband in WWE.
It was also stated that Cody could begin working for WWE as soon as this weekend, with possibly going to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida to film segments for his return.
The reason Cody left WWE in 2016 was due to his frustration with lack of direction, dissatisfaction with certain members of the WWE creative team, and his Stardust character. It was further noted in the report that this will be a non-factor in his return to WWE, as he is expected to have a completely different relationship with Vince McMahon and the creative team.
Sports Illustrated also is reporting that another key issue in the decision for Cody leaving AEW was that he lost all his responsibilities related to booking. Cody was originally a part of the booking team for AEW. However, Tony Khan, has taken full creative and booking control.
It was further stated that sources have confirmed Cody is going back to WWE, but when he will begin to appear on WWE TV is not clear, or even if a deal has been reached.
