“The Best In The World” CM Punk vs. Dax Harwood

This is the first time these two have ever faced each other one-on-one. Cash Wheeler stays in the back instead of coming with Dax. Punk is wearing his long tights tonight. Following the lockup, they stalemate in the corner and then Dax takes Punk down with a head scissors and then a shoulder block only for Punk to come back with a sere of armdrags.

Punk puts Dax in a Kimura and transitions into a Hammerlock as Dax tries to fight out. Dax shoves Punk into the ropes and runs him over with a Running Knee Lift. Dax hits a Snap Suplex and a Leg Drop for one before dropping Punk with a Backbreaker. Dax puts Punk in a chinlock and then counters a Sleeper attempt from Punk with a Side Suplex.

Dax throws Punk into the corner and starts arguing with the Gunn Club, who is sitting at ringside for some reason. Dax runs Punk over with a Running Back Elbow and then goes to the top for a Diving Headbutt, but Punk rolls out of the way and exchanges strikes with Dax. Punk hits a Roaring Elbow and then a Leg Lariat for two.

Punk hits a Leg Drop and goes up top but Dax quickly crotches him on the top rope and climbs up with him. Dax attempts a Superplex but Punk throws him off only for Dax to crotch him again as Punk set up for the Diving Elbow Drop. Dax hits a Superplex and goes back to the top and connects with the Diving Headbutt for two.

Dax attempts a Brainbuster put Punk counters and tries to Suplex Dax over the top rope only for Dax to hang on pulling Punk over the top at the same time! Cash Wheeler walks out and starts cheering for Dax as he rolls back in the ring. Punk goes up top and dives off with a Flying Cross Body for two. Punk transitions into the Anaconda Vice but Dax manages to break away after pulling Punk’s hair. Dax goes for a Sharpshooter but Punk kicks off him and catches him with an inside cradle for two. Dax reverses it into one of his own for his own nearfall.

Punk goes for a Flying Knee in the corner but Dax catches him and hits the Rebound Liger Bomb! 1…2…NO Punk kicks out! Dax goes for a backdrop but Punk kicks him and then hits the Flying Knee in the corner. Punk goes for the GTS but Dax catches his knee and locks in the Sharpshooter! Punk rolls over and Monkey Flips Dax into the Anaconda Vice. Dax taps!

Winner: Punk via submission (Anaconda Vice)

After the match, Punk gestured to the camera like wrapping something around his neck. Excalibur suggested he was referring the Dog Collar Match but he followed it up by saying he was coming for a championship next. Excalibur asked what title he meant, so it seems like they may be teasing Hangman vs. Punk.

In the back, the JAS cut a promo on the Dark Order. Jericho says John Silver just getting in the ring with him puts him on a new level, just not Jericho’s level. He says he’s going to take Silver to school. Daniel Garcia says they beat up pro wrestlers and tonight he’s going to give a perfect example of why a pro wrestler can’t hang in the ring with a sports entertainer. JAS mock that Kingston and PNP aren’t here. Jake Hager says that they aren’t here and they aren’t coming back.

8-Man Tornado Tag Team Match
Sting, Darby Allin & The Hardyz vs. The AFO (The Butcher, The Blade, Marq Quen & Isaiah Kassidy) w/Andrade & Allie

Allin comes flying through the ropes like a missile with a Tope Suicida onto Butcher followed by a Plancha off the top onto everyone else! The Hardyz start brawling with Butcher and Blade at ringside and things are absolutely crazy to start off. The Hardyz brawl up into the stands with Butcher and Blade. Darby Allin chases Butcher and jumps on his back but Andrade low blows Allin from behind. Butcher starts rag dolling Allin up against a wall before throwing him down adman flight of stairs!

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

During the break, Private Party double teamed Matt Hardy on the stage, while Sting is being beaten down by Butcher and Blade in what looks like a kitchen or something. Matt goes to Side Effect Kassidy off the stage but Quen low blows him from behind. Private Party Double Side Effects Hardy off the stage through some tables!

Jeff Hardy has grabbed a giant ladder and helps Sting and Allin out by slamming it into Butcher and Blade. Sting and Allin lay the AFO guys onto some tables and Jeff climbs up the ladder onto a balcony and hits a Swanton Dive! JEFF HARDY YOU DAMN LUNATIC! Private Party drags Matt to the ring and cover him but Hardy kicks out at two!

Sting low blows Quen and hits Stinger Splashes on both of Private Party after shaking off a chair shot from Kassidy. Quen moves out of the way of a Splash and then they go for Gin and Juice btu Sting blocks it. He stumbles but gets back up and hits the Stinger Death Drop followed by a Twist of Fate from Hardy on Quen for the pin.

Winners: Hardyz, Sting & Allin via pinfall (Twist of Fate)

In the back, Cash Wheeler bitches about The Gunn Club being at ringside. Dax says the “Ass Boys” are spoiled brats and says FTR are the best tag team in the industry and challenges them to a match next week.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley w/William Regal vs. The Varsity Blonds w/Julia Hart

Regal goes over to the announce table for this one. Moxley and Danielson jump the Blonds and go to work right away. Moxley and Danielson utilize some quick tags. Moxley hits a German Suplex on Griff Garrison and then holds him as Danielson puts the boots to him.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Danielson catches a diving Pillman with a roundhouse kick. Moxley tags in and hits a Lariat and a Gotch Piledriver for two before Garrison breaks it up. Garrison tosses Danielson to the outside and exchanges strikes with Moxley. Garrison hits a Big Boot and then the Blonds hit a Spinebuster/Dropkick combo for two. Garrison tags in and the Blonds go for a double team but Danielson kills Garrison with the Flying Knee. Moxley hits the Paradigm Shift on Pillman. They both start just stomping and elbowing the Blonds before Moxley puts Garrison in the Rear Naked Choke and Danielson puts Pillman in the LaBell Lock for the submission.

Winners: Moxley & Danielson via submission (Rear Naked Choke)

Regal walks down to the ring as Moxley grabs the microphone. Moxley says he is lucky and blessed because he has been fortunate enough to compete with the best in the world and learn from the best in the world but there is only one man that’s opinion he has ever cared about and that is William Regal. Moxley says the seal of approval from Regal is not easy to get and he earned it. He says he wears that “Blackpool badge of honor” with honor just like his friend Bryan Danielson. He calls Danielson the “perfect wrestler” and says they were forged in combat.

Moxley says that if you want to get in the ring with them you better step up or get stepped on. Moxley says anyone that anyone that thinks they have what it takes to ride with the three most sadistic people in the business, you better reach deep down into your soul and find a place where you love pain to earn a badge of honor from the “Blackpool Combat Club” the only way to get it is the hard way.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

MJF comes out and a security detail is posted up at ringside. MJF says unlike Wardlow he is a man of word and he honors his business agreements. He says it’s just sad that Wardlow was simply not good enough to beat Scorpio Sky. MJF says that Punk knows that he had him beat at Revolution, just like he beat him twice in Chicago. MJF says Punk had to cheat to win and that he doesn’t know when or where but there will be another match. He says when he faces Punk again he will give him the most embarrassing loss of his career.

MJF says it will never be over between he and Punk until he attends Punk’s funeral and pissses on his grave. MJF says that if it wasn’t for him no one would know Wardlow and without him he wouldn’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. He says thanks to MJF, Wardlow has a roof over his mom’s head. He says Wardlow repaid him by screwing him out of his biggest match.

MJF says that Wardlow signed a deal with the devil when he signed with MJF and he’s about to make his life a living hell. MJF says that if he tells Wardlow to jump he will ask how high. He even says if he wants to kick Wardlow’s “skank mother” out of her house there is nothing he can do about it. He says he OWNS Wardlow.

Wardlow walks down and obliterates the security guards. More security runs out and they hold him down. MJF says he doesn’t work for AEW, he works for him. MJF says he’s trespassing because he doesn’t want Wardlow here. MJF says he’ll keep paying him but he’s just going to pay him to stay home until everyone forgets he even existed.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

In the back, Chuck Taylor says he never liked Wheeler Yuta but OC and Chuck Taylor took him under their wing. He says he repays them by trying to join forces with Regal. Trent is done with him and Yuta says he never liked Trent either. He says he’s not trying to be the Best Friend he can be, he’s trying to be the best wrestler.

Adam Cole vs. Jay Lethal

Lethal and Cole are both former ROH World Champions and faced each other countless times in Ring of Honor. In fact, Cole won the ROH Title from Lethal in 2016. Cole also beat Lethal in a tournament to crown a new ROH Champion in 2013. Cole and Lethal exchange some mat wrestling early on. Lethal hits a Hip Toss into a dropkick for a quick one count before putting Cole in a Waistlock.

Cole counters into a Waistlock of his own and then hits an Enziguri only for Lethal to come back with the Lethal Combination. Lethal goes for a Springboard Dropkick but Cole ducks out of the way only for Lethal to dropkick him off the apron. Lethal hits three straight Tope Suicidas and reDRagon is shown walking onto the stage.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Lethal hits a Slingshot Sunset Flip and then goes for a Figure Four but Cole rolls him up for two. They exchange rollups and cradles for a series of nearfalls until Lethal finally locks him in the Figure Four. Cole gets to the ropes to break the hold as reDRagon has come down to ringside. reDRagon distracts Lethal allowing Cole to roll him up for two. Cole hits a Superkick and goes for the BOOM but Lethal catches him with a Diamond Cutter. Lethal goes for the Lethal Injection but Cole hits the Superkick in midair. Cole hits the Panama Sunrise! 1…2…NO Lethal kicks out!

Cole picks Lethal up and goes for the BOOM but Lethal ducks and rolls him up only for reDRagon to distract the referee. Cole low blows Lethal and hits the BOOM for the pin.

Winner: Cole via pinfall (BOOM)

Cole says that no one deserves a World Title shot more than him and he says he saw fear in Hangman’s eyes last week because he knows Cole is the one that is going to take the title from him. Cole says that Hangman caught lightning in a bottle at Revolution and next time they face he will shove that bottle up his ass. Cole says that Hangman is a coward and doesn’t have the guts to face them man-to-man.

Page walks out and goes after them but the numbers game gets the better of him. Jurassic Express and Christian run out and the heels bail but Cole steals the World Title as he retreats.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Tony Schiavone interviews Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti in the ring. Sammy says he doesn’t have his title anymore but he still has the ring and every time he’s in it he’ll give people something they will remember. Tay Conti says they want payback and she’s going to kick Paige VanZant’s ass. Sammy challenges any two members of Team Lambert.

Dan Lambert walks out with the Men of the Year and says that Ethan Page is the only thing Canada has gotten wrong in a long time. He calls PVZ the biggest free agent signing in AEW history. Lambert says Sky hasn’t lost a match since Tony Khan reached puberty. He calls Conti “Luchawhoreus” but they don’t have to give Conti and Sammy anything, let alone a match.

Lambert kisses the TNT Title and says that they’ve been living in Lambert’s head since he got in AEW but if he knew what they did with that belt he would know they live in his mouth now, too.

“Legit” Leyla Hirsch vs. Red Velvet

Kris Statlander is barred from ringside for this match. Hirsch knocks Velvet off the apron as she was making her entrance, but then Velvet throws her into the barricade. Hirsch throws Velvet into the barricade but then walks into an elbow. Velvet hits a Diving Rana off the steps on Hirsch.

In the ring, Velvet beats Hirsch down in the corner followed by a Standing Moonsault for two. Hirsch comes back with a Gutwrench Suplex for two.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Velvet hits Flying Knees to the back of Hirsch followed by a Spinning Back Kick. She goes for a spring board move but Hirsch catches her in midair with a German Suplex for two. Velvet hits the Spinning Enziguri but Hirsch rolls out of the ring. Velvet tries to pull her back in but Hirsch slams her arm across the ropes. Hirsch grabs a spare turnbuckle from under the ring but the referee catches her. Hirsch had something in her trunks and hit Velvet with it as the referee was turned around and she gets the pin.

Winner: Hirsch via pinfall

Hirsch puts Velvet in an Armbar but Statlander runs out and attacks Hirsch.

Schiavone calls Thunder Rosa onto the stage but Vickie Guerrero interrupts her before she can even say anything. Vickie is offended that Rosa is calling herself a Texan and says she can take her fake green card and go back to Mexico. Nyla Rose attacks Rosa from behind and beats her down.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

The Beaver Boys (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) w/The Dark Order vs. The JAS (Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia) w/2point0 & Jake Hager

The Beaver Boys are on fire to start the match and even hit a Tope Suicida/Brainbsuter combo on Jericho on the floor. They hit a Flapjack into a Forearm Smash on Garcia. Jericho kicks the ring steps and then falls down pretending like the Dark Order attacked him causing the referee to kick Dark Order out from ringside.

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Jericho goes for the Lionsault but Reynolds rolls out of the way and makes the hot tag to Silver. Silver hits a Flapjack on Jericho and then throws Garcia to the outside. Silver hits an Enziguri on Jericho and then dives onto Garcia before attacking the rest of the JAS. Silver hits a Flying Cross Body on Jericho for two.

Silver goes for a Roaring Elbow but Jericho catches him with the Codebreaker for two. Jericho tags Garcia and they throw him into the corner. Silver backdrops Jericho to the floor and Reynolds blind tags him. Reynolds and Silvers hits a series of moves capped off by a Jackknife from Reynolds for two. Silver knocks Hager off the apron and then knocks 2point0 off and dives onto Hager. Hager catches Silver and hits the Spinebsuter! Reynolds hits a Popup Knee Strike on Garcia but then Jericho hits him with a bat as Garcia distracted the referee. Garcia puts Reynolds in the modified Sharpshooter for the submission.

Winners: Garcia & Jericho via submission (modified Sharpshooter)
