Reported reactions and interest from other promotions regarding CM Punk

PWInsider Elite is reporting that CM Punk became a topic of discussion within WWE as soon as he was terminated from AEW. It is being said that the response has been divided. Some in WWE apparently look at it as a chance for the company to make a lot of money, with one top talent even going as far as to actually having endorsed the idea. However there are many more within WWE who were said to be against Punk returning and do not believe his return would happen.

The report also stated that any discussion of Punk returning to WWE would have to be a discussion saved for the future, as the company is currently focused on the final stages of the merger with Endeavor, which is expected to be completed this month.

It is also being said by PWInsider Elite the belief is Endeavor would make any final decisions to sign Punk. He had previously worked for Endeavor when he had his run in UFC. It was further noted Punk reportedly has a good relationship with top Endeavor executives.

PWInsider Elite concluded their by saying IMPACT Wrestling has shown interest in Punk. However it is not clear if they can even afford him. NJPW it is believed to be off the table due to their relationship with AEW.

There have been various reports that say Punk’s termination from AEW is without a noncompete clause, which would allow him to sign free and clear with any promotion at any time.
