Per a new report from Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer/F4WOnline, WWE SmackDown is expected to return back a two-hour format.
Meltzer notes in his latest newsletter, while there has been no official announcement from WWE or the USA Network, its expected June 6 will be when SmackDown makes the return as a two-hour show again. Meltzer did say though, however, as of now June is not a hard date, but the expectation is the change back to the two-hour broadcast is expected to be finalized soon.
After a five-year run on Fox, SmackDown returned to the USA Network last September, as part of new media rights deal that keeps the blue brand on NBCUniversal for the next five-years. The new deal also includes Saturday Night’s Main Event live specials on Peacock/ NBC. SmackDown also airs live on Netflix for international fans.
We will keep you posted once more details become available.
