Fightful Select has reported that a recent exchange between Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill may be more than the “playful work” that started off.
The exchange, which saw Cargill talk about Ripley going to creative, brought in the likes of Chelsea Green and Piper Niven sharing their own thoughts on the matter, including a remark from Niven about being recovered by the time the reigning WWE Women’s Champion is back from her “many vacations.”
In spite of the seemingly heated nature of the back and forth, WWE is reported to be “generally happy” about the buzz that followed, with the idea that people will believe Cargill and Ripley genuinely dislike one another regardless of how true that might be, allowing for the perceived tension to further build toward their title match at WrestleMania 42.
It was also said there is no concern from sources close to the situation that the two wouldn’t be able to work together.
PWInsider further reported that the situation was not something devised by WWE creative, with sources pinning the blame on Cargill and noting this was not the first time she has upset others with her conduct.
Curiously, this points to the “real reason” she vanished last year and was seen training at the Performance Center as not solely because of injury, but to let personal issues subside.
WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and April 19 from Allegiant Stadium in Paradise (Las Vegas), Nevada.
