WWE SmackDown kicks off with highlights of the Elimination Chamber.
Live in the arena, Randy Orton’s music hits and out he comes to the ring.
He gets in the ring and the fans chant “Randy”. He welcomes everyone to SmackDown. The fans chant “RKO” and Orton smiles. He says he got to the venue today and the WrestleMania sign was already up. He says he would look at it during the day, he started thinking about each individual WrestleMania that he has performed in. He says there have been 20 of them and he has only main evented twice. He says it doesn’t matter who you are, what you have done, how many titles you won, how many records you set, it doesn’t matter. There is no guarantee that you will go to WrestleMania, let alone main eventing WrestleMania. Orton smiles and says here we are. And he can say that Randy Orton is going back to the main event of WrestleMania.
Orton says he has never been the guy to stand in the ring and say that he is the best. He is not wired that way but he does let his peers do the talking and a lot of them put him in that category. Men that he admired growing up like Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Harley Race, they put him in that category. JBL used to commentate and would say Orton is what you get if you were to build a wrestler from the ground up. He says the way that makes him feel is something else. Present day, he sees the men he shares a locker room with, the amazing, talented men. It makes him proud to know that he is still doing it after all that time and people still consider him to be at the top of his game. Orton says not to get it twisted, this wasn’t handed to him, he earned it. Orton says when it comes to the main event of WrestleMania 42, he doesn’t know who he opponent will be but we will know in a few hours.
Randy says he feels different about the two possibilities. Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes. He says it doesn’t natter who it is, he is not leaving Vegas empty handed. His approach will be the same, he will go to Vegas with a chip on his shoulder and he will leave Vegas with the WWE Undisputed Championship around his waist.
Orton says he plans on accomplishing that using one way and that is by using the three most dangerous letters. R, K and the lights go out. Trick’s music hits and out comes Trick Williams. He says to cut the music, the sexiest and most entertaining superstar alive has finally arrived. And the truth is that he has voices in his head too and they are telling him that he has a bone to pick with Orton. Because they all know that Trick should be in the main event of WrestleMania. But he has another problem with Orton, maybe even bigger than that. Orton came out on Saturday, he went to his Chamber, him standing on his tippy toes and said Trick is not 6 foot 5 feet. Now here he is, in his ring, man to man, face to face, eye to eye and it ain’t because he has these lemon pepper steppers. But as he is talking, Orton hits him with the RKO. Orton’s music hits and he stands on the second rope celebrating.
We see a clip from earlier in the day with Nick Aldis and Carmelo Hayes. Aldis tells him he has an opponent for him tonight for the United States Championship Open Challenge match.

United States Championship Open Challenge – Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.
The bell rings and we are under way. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a drop kick followed by a cannonball in the corner. Hayes rolls onto the ring apron but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr kicks him onto the side of the head. Hayes falls to the outside of the ring and Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a cannon ball. He throws Hayes back into the ring and goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a body slam and he climbs the top rope. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a drop kick. He goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr lifts Hayes up but Hayes with a right hand. Hayes with a drop kick and kicks onto Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr’s leg. Hayes gets Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr hung up in between the ropes and he lands a spring board leg drop.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Hayes with a kick to the side of the head but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a clothesline. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr goes for a clothesline but Hayes moves out of the way and lands a a springboard clothesline. Hayes with a dirty Diana. He goes for the cover but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr kicks out. Hayes goes for First 48 but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr grabs him and powerbombs him. He goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a forearm to the face. He lifts Hayes up but Hayes lands on his feet. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a big boot. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr gets on the top rope and jumps but Hayes with the First 48. He goes for the cover but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr kicks out. Hayes climbs the top rope and jumps but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr moves out of the way. Hayes lands on his feet but Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr with a knee to the face. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr gets Hayes on his shoulders and he powerbombs him. He goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr climbs the top rope and he goes for a moon sault but Hayes moves out of the way. Hayes climbs the top rope and he lands Nothing But Net. Hayes goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still United States Champion, Carmelo Hayes
We cut to the back and Cathy Kelley is with Ilja Dragunov. He tells her that he never wants to be other people and accept a title match if he keeps losing. He tells her he learned that from the greatest warrior he has ever known, his mother. She sacrificed and carried the weight of the entire world on her shoulders. When people call him warrior, it means a lot for him. And until he can become that warrior again, he will wait. In comes The Miz, he says in his day, he was taught to always say yes. Hayes offered him a title match and Ilja said no. In comes Kit Wilson, he tells Ilja that his masculinity is toxic. Ilja says fighting is always the answer and he walks away. Miz tells Kit that he got this and walks away.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Nick Aldis is with Damian Priest. He says he heard he has a match tonight and in comes R-Truth. He tells Priest that Priest is in big trouble and they are both in trouble. Aldis tells him that they are both in the Tag Team Turmoil match. Priest says winning Tag Team titles sounds pretty good for him and he thanks him. They walk away and in comes Drew McIntyre. He tells Aldis that now that he has had a chance to calm down, to be reasonable. He says he is the face of the brand, they made an agreement when he won the title that there would be no rematch for Cody unless he wins the Rumble or Chamber. He tells Aldis to make it right. Aldis tells him what is unreasonable is Drew telling him time after time that he was going to let things happen as they should. He says Drew went back on his word and he went back on his. He tells Drew to defend the title tonight unless e wants to forfeit. Drew says it always feels like it’s Drew McIntyre against the world. He says he beat Cody before, he will do it again. The only way Cody will take the title from him is by taking it from his cold, dead hands.
We see a bottle of champagne and champagne glasses in the ring. Out come the new Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Lash Legend, the Irresistible Forces. Nia tells hem to soak it all in, to get a real, good look at two six foot, stallions. Nia says now with the titles, they have the entire division on lock. They are generous Champions, they won’t just settle. Any and all challengers are welcome but it won’t make a difference. Lash says Nia is right because if anyone is brave enough to step to them and try to take the titles, if you run up, you going to get done up. And for those in the back, this is their first, last and only warning that the Irresistible Forces are here and they are not going anywhere. She says since it is Women’s History Month, it is only fitting for them to have a toast, a cheers, to the most grand, dominant WWE Tag Team Champions. She hands Nia a glass and she grabs a glass, they toast in the ring with pyro going off on stage.
Charlotte Flair’s music hits and out she come Flair and Bliss to the ring. Bliss says she is really happy for Nia, looks like she finally found a coat tail to ride all the way to the top. But they remember what actually happened. The only reason they lost the titles to the Kabuki Warriors is because they interfered in their matches. Flair says the both of them want challengers, they are looking at the next one’s in line. Out come Giulia and Kiana James to the ring. Kiana tells them to wait because two weeks ago, she was in a triple threat match against Nia and Jax. And she won the match. She says she pinned Alexa in the Elimination Chamber. She says they plan on going to WrestleMania ne way or another. Giulia begins to speak in Japanese. She says they will walk into Vegas with the Tag Team Championships. Kiana tells Alexa and Flair to step to the side. They start to argue and out comes Nick Aldis. He makes a Tag Team match between both teams.
-Commercial Break-
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Giulia and Kiana James
Back from commercial and the match is already under way. Kiana is on the outside of the ring and Flair is on the ring apron. Flair with a cannonball onto both Kiana and Giulia. She grabs Kiana but Kiana pushes Flair into the ring post. She throws Flair back into the ring. Kiana goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Kiana with an elbow drop. Giulia is tagged in and she lands a drop kick. Giulia goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Kiana is tagged back in. Kiana with shoulder tackles in the corner. Kiana goes for a standing moon sault but Flair gets her knees up. Flair with a big boot but Kiana with a boot and both women are down. Giulia is tagged in and as is Bliss. Giulia goes for a right hand but Bliss with a drop kick. Bliss to the ropes and she lands a senton. She goes for the cover but Giulia kicks out. Bliss grabs Giulia but Giulia with a right hand. Bliss with a drop kick. She throws Giulia to the outside of the ring. Bliss gets on the ring apron and goes for a cross body but Kiana grabs her and slams her.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Kiana and Giulia are down in the ring. Flair climbs the top rope and lands a moon sault on them both. Flair goes for the cover on Kiana but Kiana kicks out. Giulia is tagged in and she lands a back suplex. She goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Giulia lifts Flair up but Flair lands on her feet and she hits Giulia with a German suplex. In comes Kiana but Bliss with a DDT. Flair with the Natural Selection onto Giulia. She goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
A video of Jelly Roll airs and he congratulates Randy Orton on winning. Jelly Roll says that he will be on SmackDown next week.
Cathy Kelley is backstage with Cody Rhodes. He tells her that he just wants to point at the sign. Obstacle after obstacle. The only thing that remains is Drew McIntyre. He would hope that the next time they speak, she will be speaking to the new WWE Champion. She wishes him luck and walks away. In comes Sami Zayn. He tells Cody that he knows things have been icy for the last couple of weeks, he is not trying to get into Cody’s head. He says it is crazy that it is happening. Cody asks him what is crazy. Zayn tells him that Cody beat him to qualify, he let that go. But Cody lost in the Elimination Chamber match. The whole point is the winner gets a WWE Championship opportunity but he lost. And Cody is still getting this match. He says Cody is getting a second chance but he isn’t Cody tells him Zayn is politicking for the title and he hasn’t even won it yet. Zayn tells him that Cody thinks he is trying to angle his way in. Cody tells him he doesn’t know and to spit it out. Zayn tells him he doesn’t know. He says he came here to tell him good luck and it turned into all of this. He tells him good luck because he might nit believe it but he is rooting for him. He wants what is best for him. He tells him to go out and do what Cody does, to go be WWE Champion, again. Cody tells him okay and walks away. Zayn gets angry and yells.
We see clips of Trick Williams on The Breakfast Club show.
WWE Tag Team Championship Number 1 Contender’s Turmoil Match – The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Fraxiom vs. Wyatt Sicks vs. Humberto and Garza vs. R-Truth and Damian Priest
The Motor City Machine Guns and Fraxiom start the match. Frazer and Shelley start the match. Both men with kicks and right hands. Sabin is tagged in and Shelley is thrown to the outside of the ring. Sabin with a shoulder tackle and Axiom is tagged in. Axiom slams Sabin onto the mat. Nathan is tagged in and Shelley is tagged in. Nathan with a kick to the side of the head. Axiom is tagged in and they double team Shelley. Sabin gets in the ring and they double team him. Shelley and Sabin to the outside of the ring. Nathan with a suicide dive and Axiom with a suicide dive.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Frazer with a drop kick onto The Motor City Machine guns and they fall to the outside of the ring. Frazer with a splash over the top rope onto both men. He throws Sabin into the ring and Nathan with a knee to the face. Shelley is tagged in and they double team Nathan. Sabin is tagged n. Axiom trips Shelley up on the ring apron. Axiom is tagged in and Axiom climbs the top rope. He drop kicks Sabin. He goes for the cover, Shelley puts Sabin’s foot on the bottom rope but the referee counts to three.
The Motor City Machine Guns are eliminated.
Los Garza’s are in the ring. Berto slams Nathan and goes for the cover but Nathan kicks out. Garza is tagged in and they double team Nathan. Garza goes for the cover but Axiom breaks it up. Berto throws Axiom to the outside of the ring. Garza climbs the top rope but Nathan jumps to the top. Axiom is tagged n and Nathan with a super plex. Axiom with a kick. He goes for the cover but Berto breaks it up. He grabs Nathan but Nathan throws him to the outside. Angel climbs the top rope and in the other corner, Nathan climbs the top rope. Berto pushes Nathan down. Angel pushes Axiom down. Berto is tagged in and they land MTY. Berto goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Fraxiom are eliminated.
Out come The Wyatt Sicks.

Back from commercial, Lumis is thrown to the outside of the ring. Angel with right hands and he throws Lumis into the ring. Berto is tagged back in. Berto with a kick. He goes for the cover but Lumis kicks out. Berto with a half crab but Lumis kicks him off. Berto gets up and hits Gacy off the ring apron. Angel is tagged in and they double team Lumis. They double team Lumis. Berto goes for the cover but Gacy breaks it up. Gacy is tagged in and he hits a big boot onto Los Garza. Gacy with a back suplex onto Berto. He goes for the cover but Berto kicks out. Angel gets in the ring but Gacy hits him with a super kick. With the referee distracted, Tonga Loa pulls Gacy to the outside of the ring. That distracts Gacy. Berto rolls Gacy up and gets the pin.
The Wyatt Sicks are eliminated.
Out come R-Truth and Damian Priest
The Wyatt Sicks and the MFTs fight to the back.

Back from commercial, Los Garza are on the outside of the ring. Priest to the outside and he pushes Angel onto the announce table. Berto with a suicide dive. He throws Priest back into the ring. Berto with a springboard kick to the side of the head. Berto climbs the top rope and he lands a moon sault. He goes for the cover but Priest kicks out. Berto grabs Priest but Priest with the broken arrow. Truth is tagged in. Truth with a shoulder tackle followed by a slam. Truth with the You Can’t See Me and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Truth goes for AA but Berto lands on his feet. Truth turns around and he gets Berto in the STF but Angel breaks it up. Priest is tagged in. Priest and Truth in the ring. Priest with the AA on Angel and Priest with the South of Heaven. They go for the cover and get the pin.

Back from commercial, we see Randy Orton walking backstage. He is stopped by Sami Zayn. He tells Orton he is really happy for him. He says Cody qualified because Drew got involved but in the Chamber match, Orton did the exact same thing to Cody. He wants to know how Orton does it. How he talks about Cody like he is one of his closest friends and dropping him when he turns his back. Orton tells him that sometimes you have to be selfish. Zayn asks him if that makes Orton a bad person. Orton tells him it makes him a 14 time World Champion. Zayn says you can’t argue with that. He wishes Orton luck and tells him he really hopes he wins. Orton tells him he believes in Zayn but Zayn needs to believe in himself. He tells Zayn to maybe try listening to the voices. Orton walks away but in come Aleister Black and Zelina. Black tells him not to worry about him, just the nature of the beast.
Rhea Ripley’s music hits and out she comes to the ring. She says that she said she was going to come here and she is here. She tells Jade that since there is a lot Jade wants to tell her, she can come out and say it to her face. Jade’s music hits and out she comes. Jade extends her hand and Rhea shakes it. Jade tells Rhea that she gave her a handshake because she respects her. She respects all of her accomplishments, she respects how the people love her, she respects how Rhea earned her way to see her in a title shot at WrestleMania. And as someone who works hard in the gym, she respects how hard Rhea works to have the body she has. But she is not impressed. Rhea’s arms are big but hers are bigger. Her legs, they’re muscular, powerful even but hers are more powerful. She is more powerful. And she is more worthy for the WWE Women’s Champion and come WrestleMania, she will beat the hell out of her and there is nothing she can do about it. Because she’s that bitch.
Jade drops the microphone. Rhea extends her hand and Jade shakes it. Rhea tells her that she respects the honesty, now she knows what Jade really thinks about her. And she doesn’t impress her physically but Jade does impress her physically. Jade’s shoulders, yeah, they might be a bit bigger than hers. Maybe her arms are too, maybe her legs are also and by the feeling of it, maybe her hand is also. But if Jade hits her with her best shot, does she really think that Rhea is going to go down and stay down, no. But if Rhea hits her with hers, there is absolutely no way Jade is getting back up. Because the difference between them is that Jade’s body is built for show. Her body is built for fighting. She says Jade works out because she is more aesthetically pleasing, she works out because her body can survive and thrive in the business. When that bell rings, Jade can flex all she wants, it doesn’t matter because she is going to fight. And she is going to take that title from her and she is going to take it with force. And there’s not a damn thing that Jade can do about it because she’s that bitch. Rhea drops the microphone and they are face to face. Rhea’s music hits and she leaves the ring.
We cut to the back and Johnny Gargano is laying down on a piece of crate. Shelley is with Candice and in comes Sabin. He tells Shelley that they lose their match and he comes to see Johnny. He asks Shelley why he didn’t break the pin. Shelley says he did and they argue off. Candice tells him she needs to get up, to be Johnny Wrestling. He gets up and tells her she is right and to go to the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, a Bo Dallas video package airs. He tells Solo that he will not step until it is returned.
In the arena, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are in the ring. He says it is time that he remembers who he is. He needs to be Johnny Wrestling again and that starts tonight. He makes an open invitation to anyone in the locker room to get come out and get in the ring right now. The lights go out and out comes Oba Femi to the ring.

The bell rings and we are under way. Johnny goes for a right hand but Oba Femi catches him. Johnny lands on his feet. Johnny with a right hand and goes for an arm bar but Oba Femi with a chop. Johnny in the corner and Oba Femi with a running elbow to the face. Oba Femi lifts him up and lands the Puff Puff Toss. Oba Femi lifts Johnny up and lands the Fall From Grace. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Oba Femi
We see Jade Cargill walking backstage. She is stopped by B-Fab and Michin who has a kendo stick. Michin asks her if she forgot about her. Jade tells her she didn’t but she has more important things. She asks Michin why she let Rhea skip the line and she tells Jade that she earned it. Jade tells her she will stop waiting and she will see her next week.
-Commercial Break-
Nick Aldis is walking backstage and he is stopped by Danhausen. He shows Nick a piece of paper, asking him to be in the Hall of Fame and wanting a mentor. Aldis says it is not really his job for that. Aldis walks and finds Miz. He shakes his hand and Miz tells him he is trying to help superstars. Aldis thanks Miz for that and he tells him he has someone for him to mentor. A brand new WWE superstar and in comes Danhausen. He extends his hand to shake and Miz tells Aldis he needs someone he can mentor, someone to teach him how to master, inspire and zone in. Aldis walks away. Miz tells him he won’t mentor him and Danhausen tells him if he doesn’t, he will be cursed. And to remember what happened to Dominik on Monday. Miz turns around and Danhausen disappears.

Undisputed WWE Championship – Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
The bell rings and we are under way. Drew leaves the ring and heads to the back but Cody runs after him and hits him with a right hand. Cody throws Drew into the barricade. Chops to the chest by Cody and he throws Drew over the barricade. He pulls Drew back towards ringside. Cody throws Drew back into the ring. Drew with a chop and he hits Cody with a right hand. Drew with a chop to the chest but Cody with a right hand. Cody with the disaster kick. Cody gets Drew in the corner and he climbs the second rope. Cody with right hands. He grabs Drew and throws him towards the turnbuckle but Drew with a kick. Drew with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Cody rolls to the outside of the ring. Drew to the outside and he grabs Cody but Cody slams Drew face first into the ring steps. Cody goes for a suicide dive but Drew with a right hand. Cody falls to the outside of the ring and Drew slams Cody face first into the ring steps. He lifts Cody up and he drops him onto the ring apron.
Drew throws Cody into the ring and he goes for the cover but Cody kicks out. Drew lifts Cody up and he lands a suplex. Drew goes for the cover but Cody kicks out. Drew with a chop to the chest and he lifts Cody up but Cody lands on his feet. Cody with right hands. Cody with a snap powerslam. Cody with the Cody Cutter. Cody grabs Drew and goes for the Cross Rhodes but Drew drops and leaves the ring. Cody grabs Drew but Drew pulls Cody’s left arm into the ring post. Cody rolls back into the ring. Drew with a DDT. He goes for the cover but Cody kicks out. Drew with a modified arm bar but Cody with a right hand. Drew grabs Cody’s arm and slams it onto his knees. Drew climbs the top rope but Cody with a right hand. Cody climbs the top rope and he lands a superplex. Cody with a right hand and he trips Drew down. Cody with the figure four leg lock but Drew makes it to the ropes. Drew pulls Cody’s left arm and Drew rolls to the outside of the ring. Cody with a suicide dive. Cody throws Drew onto the announce table. They stand on the table and Cody goes for the Cross Rhodes but Drew hits him with a right hand and the table collapses.
Cody pulls a table from under the ring but Drew hits him from behind. Drew places the table at ringside. Drew lifts Cody up and powerbombs him through the table. He grabs Cody and throws him into the ring. Drew with the Cross Rhodes. He goes for the cover but Cody kicks out. Drew goes for the Claymore but Cody with a kick. Cody with the Claymore Kick. He goes for the cover but Drew kicks out. Cody climbs the top rope and jumps but Drew moves out of the way. Cody lands on his feet. Cody grabs Drew and throws him towards the corner but Drew stomps at the ropes. Drew with a right hand. Cody goes for the Disaster Kick but Drew pulls the referee in front of him and Cody hits the referee. Drew goes for a futureshock DDT but Cody gets out of it. Cody goes for the pedigree but Drew with a back drop. He runs towards Cody but Cody with a big boot. Cody goes for a splash but Drew moves out of the way. Drew with a chop to the chest. Drew grabs Cody but Cody lands on his feet and he lands the Cross Rhodes. Cody asks for a referee to run out and out comes a referee. Drew hits him with the Claymore. He goes for the cover but Cody kicks out.
Drew gets in the referee’s face. The referee tells him that Cody kicked out. Drew throws Cody shoulder first into the ring post. Drew hits the referee with the Glasgow Kiss. Drew to the outside of the ring and he grabs a steel chair. He gets in the ring and goes to swing it but Jacob Fatu gets on the ring apron. He grabs the steel chair. Cody rolls Drew up but Drew kicks out. Drew with the futureshock DT. Drew goes for the Claymore but Cody moves out of the way. Cody with a super Cutter. Cody with the Cross Rhodes. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: New Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes
Cody points to the WrestleMania sign with pyro going off and SmackDown goes off the air.
