Report: Konnan undergoes leg amputation, said to be in fragile condition

Book Pro Wrestlers on Facebook, the Record and other multiple sources are reporting that former WCW star and AAA creative team member Konnan, underwent surgery to amputate on of his legs due to severe medical complications.

The Record has squashed rumors that Konnan has passed away, noting he is alive, but in fragile condition.

Book Pro Wrestlers and the Record further note the 62-year-old wrestling legend is currently at a hospital in San Diego and that doctors are also monitoring closely his remaining leg due to the same underlying health issues, which has raised concerns that leg could also undergo an amputation.

Konnan (real name Charles Ashenoff), health issues go back as far as the 2000s.

In 2007, he underwent a kidney transplant following organ failure.

In 2022, he was put on a waiting list for a new donor, as kidney’s from living donors usually last between 12 to 15 years.

In 2021, he was was hospitalized after contracting COVID-19. The virus impacted his kidneys, thus resulting in heart failure.
