WWE reportedly changed original creative plans for Punk-Reigns segment on 3/16 Raw

According to BodySlam+, the segment between CM Punk and Roman Reigns on Monday’s (3/16) WWE Raw reportedly had been changed.

It is being said the segment was supposed to have ended with Reigns bringing up Larry, Punk’s dog who passed away this past December. Reign’s comments would have been in retaliation to Punk’s comment about Reigns’ late father Sika Anoa’i, which was said during the verbal exchange between the two back on the March 2 episode of Raw. WWE instead went with Reigns telling Punk he was old, with Punk then punching Reigns in the face, thus prompting the security team to quickly come out and separate the two.

At the time of this writing, there has been no reason as to why WWE decided to change the creative direction for the segment.

Punk is defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Reigns at WrestleMania 42. The match is expected to take place on night two – Sunday, April 19.
